Well, I'm not a fella, but I will certainly defend myself. Go back and watch the whole thing again. I'm sure you've watched it many times already. Harvick cannot be blamed for jumping to conclusions. He didn't know Truex hit Montoya first. So I can't blame him for that. But I can for everything else. Parked his car in front of Montoya, approached Montoya, kept after Montoya even after Montoya tried to walk away. Montoya certainly didn't just sit in his car as you think us old folks would have. Montoya is a wicked hot head and I can see how Harvick would have made the assumption that he was "wrecked". But everything else was just plain wrong on his part. Now, if Harvick were a "real man", he'd apologize for jumping to conclusions. Oh, but I forget, it's the little woman that's the "man" in that family. I have no problem with how you saw this all go down. It's just not what I saw, that's all. And we're not chumps. Sometimes it's much better when calmer heads prevail.

Harvick was hot, by the time they were confronting each other Kevin knew his chase position was on the line. One swing and no chase for Harvick or all his crewmembers. That is why he held his belt.

Yes Juan was willing to go at it, he had nothing to lose.

For myself when I talk about the old days of NASCAR I'm referring to the racing and how much less interference NASCAR caused. I've never once said that I need to see two fools get out of their cars in the heat of the moment and actually prove to me how stupid they are. For the most part I already know who is a fool and how big of a fool they are. If you'll read any of my posts regarding Juan you'll note that I'm not his biggest fan. Same applies to Kevin so I don't think I show any bias toward one over the other. My belief is that Juan did not intentionally create this mess. Should he have pulled out in front of Truex when he knew he was slower on restarts ??? I say no but others have their opinions also. Did Juan take out Kevin intentionally ? NO WAY !!! In the heat of the moment Kevin blocked Juan's car and then got out. Juan, seemingly, tried to tell Kevin it was not his fault. Kevin, seemingly, didn't want to hear any excuses. He felt Juan did it on purpose. The tape clearly shows different. In no way should Juan have ever touched Kevin's helmet. I see that as a major safety infraction. (refer to football for that rule and reasons) I have no idea who REALLY could beat up on the other and I don't care. This type of action isn't and never was condoned by those who want the "old days" back. I watch races to see them "race". If I want to see idiots going after one another I'll tune in Jerry Springer.

Re: Harvick, Montoya nearly come to blows after wreck

I did not see the race and onlone short clip, I think kevin was in the wrong, although I've been in near the same situtation, where I thought a guy wrecked me I jumped the gun and later found out he was being pushed sidways behind me.

anyhow it did look like kevin backed off when jpm stood up to him.

I also think jpm drives like an idoit and has no respect for anyone.
why hasn't anyone dumped him to teach him a lesson, is he nascars new golden child ????? never seen anyone get away with so much

Re: Harvick, Montoya nearly come to blows after wreck

if it was on purpose or not doesnt matter at all.it happend and thats that a rookie mistake.the thing is it was so obvious i new before they through the green flag montoya was going to overdrive that corner(hes as predictable as the detroit lions).i definatly dont appreciate all the hating.its turned into the christian outreach affirmative action nascar forum for foreign rookie drivers.harvicks paid his do's and its time for montoya to do the same.

I don't like Harvick, but it would have been so cool for him to punch Montoya back to Columbia! Sorry Montoya fans can't stand the man! It would have been worth seeing Harvick hit him! Oh my gosh you have no idea!
