whether or not this "fits" in this thread (doesn't everything?) I'm gonna say it.

Boris quoted on TV from NASCAR's official rulebook that any available time following cancellation of scheduled qualifying (due to weather), would be used for qualifying prior to starting the race. (not "could" but "would"!)

so, by NASCAR's rules, they should be fined $1M and 1M owner points and be placed on probation until the December 31, 2007 for actions detrimental to Stock Car Racing.

what's good for the goose......

Not to discount anything Boris may have said but .... until it is confirmed by another source I'll consider it a possible truth.

Well, as NASCAR has proven time & time again, its their rules and they can change them anytime they want.

That's the nice thing about having vague rules and even more vague enforcement; it cuts down on dissention within the ranks.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing, though. Our court system operates with stated Constitutional rights, and well documented rules and enforcement procedures. Look how efficiently our legal system runs.
