Best All Around NASCAR Representative (31-40)

With 21 through 30 now done, we move a bit lower on the list of point standings. We'll have another round of 10 after these and then if there were any ties for places 1-3 we'll have a vote off.

Remember you are voting as if these were the only choices you have. Pick the one that you feel would best represent NASCAR from this group of 10.

Vote away !!!

Do I really have to type who I voted for (like no one couldn't really guess who it would be)

well, when I saw the poll results I figured it was Blaney .. but then Bears9 said he voted for Blaney, so that left the "other" 'yota driver since I don't remember you being a Dodge fan...

If DJ and Kyle weren't in the same pole(hint hint LSC ) then I would have voted for Kyle easy. They weren't in different poles(hint hint LSC) so you get the drift. You are correct on preference of Manufacturer as it would be the Blue-oval brigade

I voted Kyle. He is just a great person and I think could represent Nascar better than anybody. Maybe he doesn't win like some of the others, but I bet people can relate to Kyle than they can the others. Kyle's what my Grandma would call good people.

Well now .... When i decided to try this pole I looked over the sheet I decided to go with and saw right away that the choices would be tough for some. The good thing to remember here is that from each group of 10 we'll take the top 3 and have a playoff so to speak. At that point I may go with letting everyone have three choices. That way if your driver makes it in you can vote for him and a couple of others that you may be partial to. We'll see !!!

Kyle just seems like an all around good guy, and being well-spoken doesn't hurt, as evidenced by his popularity as a commentator. He gets my vote.

I voted Kyle. He's probably the best person in all we've had so far. I know he loves racing, but I think if he never drove again, his life would still be complete with the work he does at the Victory Junction Gang in honor of Adam. And his knowledge and respect of the old days in NASCAR is remarkable.

Re: Best All Around NASCAR Representative (31-40)

I voted for Kyle, for reasons that should be obvious! His reach goes beyond racing.

DJ is second for me. He seems to be a great guy, but Kyles charity work just pushes him over the top. And he just always seems to have time for the fans, no matter what.

He may not be my favorite driver, but he is the one I respect the most.

Re: Best All Around NASCAR Representative (31-40)

I was one of the first to vote this time, but waited 'till now to say why 'cause I didn't want to influence anyone's vote. I'm pleased by what I've seen written as to why folks voted the way they did.

I had to think about this one for a bit. Some names were relatively easy to discard, but others kept hanging around as I pared my list. There were some of the new breed of young guns and some oldies but goodies. I thought about records and personalities and how they come off when interviewed and a bunch of other things. I have to say, this one was a bit harder 'cause none of the drivers were "favorites" although I "like" several of them. But this is more than a popularity vote.

I finally narrowed it to one. One of those guys you like, but don't necessarily root for. A guy who's had success, but not much recently. A guy with deep convictions, pride in who he is and where he came from. A guy who'd rather race than almost anything else. Not a pretty face, but you can't help but like him. I wish he could drive better and had better equipment. I voted for Kyle Petty for all those reasons and more. More than championships and records, Kyle is the guy we all secretly want to be in the spotlight, carrying the NASCAR torch. He's the model for the person we want our sons and daughters to be. Because of these and a thousand other reasons, he's the best fitted for the job.

.

Very well put. I wish I had taken the time to write that. Thanks for saying it better than I did!
