ISC Tracks To Offer Ticket Insurance

A consumer would be eligible for a refund for missing an event because of unforeseen circumstances, such as medical issues, traffic accidents, jury duty or other covered reasons. A fan also would be eligible for a refund if a race is postponed because of weather and the fan cannot attend the make-up date.

Re: ISC Tracks To Offer Ticket Insurance

You know, it might be worth it at tracks in risky weather areas, especially if you know you can't stay for the rain date. I think I'd rather see them lower the ticket price overall, though. I'd be less apt to by our usual three $80.00 tickets then add on another $20.00 or so for insurance than I would be to buy five $50.00 tickets and bring my poor starving 22 and 25 year olds with me.

from the article: "Cost of the insurance was not released, but in its deal with Dover, the insurance costs 5 percent of the total purchase, or a minimum of $6.25."
