Robby Gordon to field car for Ambrose...

I read on SpeedTV that Robby Gordon is going to put Ambrose in a second car at The Glen. If Ambroce accepts that would be something.

I would be tempted to beat the living piss out of it and if Gordon was lucky he may have a steering wheel left when I was done with it.....

Re: Robby Gordon to field car for Ambrose...

I thought you was joking....lol. He's giving him a cup car to drive. I would think thats a pretty good way to apologize. I thought he had driven the cup series before.

I dunno. I think Robby's the kind of guy that would offer his hand to shake, then just as you reach for it, he jerks it away.

Thumbs up Re: Robby Gordon to field car for Ambrose...

This would be an awesome gesture as i read in todays aussie motoring read that Marcos was scheduled to drive at the Glen in the big leagues but that hasn't been decided, after his exploits on sat hopefully he can land a ride in Nextel and impress the powers that be.

Re: Robby Gordon to field car for Ambrose...

Hi hank static, welcome to GoTeamsGo and the NASCAR Forum. Glad to see you here. Be sure to stop by our "predictions" thread and enter your picks for this week's race .. who knows, you might win a prize.

Speaking of prizes, Robby certainly knows how to sur-prize everyone .

From one news source, Marcos was almost speachless, but vowed to do as Robby said: "go win the race". Marcos has always had a ready smile, but I think it'll be a permanent fixture for a while. I know if it was me, I'd have a smile so big people would wonder what lottery I had just won!!!

Re: Robby Gordon to field car for Ambrose...

If this is true, I will have to re-think my opinion of Robby Gordon. Maybe he's the type who can't put "I screwed up" into words very well, but I'll bet Ambrose is ok with that.

he said pretty clear he screwed up.but so did nascar.after a few days of this topic im starting to think most of the negative robby gordon talk.has been based on previous dislike for the guy.cause i never cared for him and i thought what he did was great.like chris rock says"im not saying what he did was right but i understand"

Re: Robby Gordon to field car for Ambrose...

I'd take my rev limiter out after the first lap and blow the engine. Stick it back in and then tell the media that Robby was just trying to make an ass out of me by giving me a bad car.

Yep, would be a great way to get another owner to take him serious about driving cup. Besides, most everybody knows that Robby don't have crap cars at a road course.

Re: Robby Gordon to field car for Ambrose...

The absolute best public relations ploys that I've ever seen in NASCAR.

I wonder how much MAPEI, Menard's, Jim Beam and Ford had to do with this coming off?

Whatever, congratulations to Robby. GREAT JOB!

as odd as it may seem, I think this was Robby's baby all along. I read somewhere a fan told him he ought to do it. I'm still amazed he was able to pull it off without word leaking out beforehand considering all the bases he had to touch to make it happen.
