| Re: Should Nascar Move Cup Race To Canada? Don't tell me Pocono is a non-snooze fest. But I agree that some road-circuit a prone to bring snooze fest, but not all of them Montreal as passing spot. Indy road circuit is a snooze fest on the other end. |

The problem with almost all the road courses are that they were designed for Indy and F1-type cars. They just aren't naturally suited for full bodied stock cars. If NASCAR is going to run road races I'd like to see someone start from scratch and design a track specifically for stock cars. What I think I'd love to see is a wide road course with at least one high banked turn, like they used to have a Monza. Imagine how that Montreal race would have looked if, at the end of the long straight where they had the hairpin, they utilized a tight 180 degree turn with banking like Darlington or Bristol?

| Re: Should Nascar Move Cup Race To Canada? yes a track with more then one or 2 places to pass, 2 spots on a oval is ok cause the laps are faster, a wide track with several medium and high banked turn would be great, hey bob if you got an extra 100mil I know where I can borrow and buldozer |

| Re: Should Nascar Move Cup Race To Canada? wow it really surprises me how many people say that.i happen to love them matter of fact i think there should be one in the chase.get rid of texas bring back darlington get rid of lowes add any road course.that way to be the champion you have to be able to drive flat track short track superspeedways and road course.not just cookie cutter mile and half tracks.i thought infinion was exciting! road courses have short track characteristics to them lots of bumpin and grindin cause its hard as hell to make a pass.lots of smoke 29 comin through. |

| Re: Should Nascar Move Cup Race To Canada? Nurburgring .. the NASCAR needs a Nurburgring: it has banked corners, off camber corners, hills, valleys, hairpins and a llllooooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg straight all tucked into 24.4km (15.16 mile) course that is widely considered the toughest and most demanding purpose-built race track in the world. and here's the big seller: you can easily get 2 million seats around the track and half a million RV's in the infield!

As long as we're going extreme, here's one I'd love to see them do. Put the Pikes Peak Hill climb on the schedule and make a points event out of it. That would satisfy the dirt track fans plus, after this week, the idea of Robby Gordon plunging over a 500-foot drop off would certainly fill the stands. Or, maybe they could revive the old Pan American Road race. A 2100 mile race using the Mexican "highways," from Juarez to Mexico City. That should satisfy Brian's drive to become an International player in racing? |

A NASCAR spec car 1.0 or 2.0 is far better suited for road courses vs. an Indy (oval racer) or modern F1 single seaters (custom track racers). F1 gave up on road courses with the abandoning of old Ring, and then the super modification of Spa and Hockenheim (Tilke be damed for eternity for this). NASCAR needs more diversity, road courses, city circuits, dirt tracks, after all, those boys were NOT smuggling moonshine on ovals. Oh yeah, and bring back the stock cars. |
