| Re: ESPN - like or dislike coverage? I wasn't real impressed, but I didn't hate it either. Doc needs to be in the pits and Bob Jenkins needs to be in the booth again, which would be easy to do since he is still employed at ESPN. I haven't really liked any of ESPN's NASCAR stuff, except the Ultimate NASCAR: The Families thing. Aside from they guys calling the race and Tim Brewer, Mike Messaro and Dave Burns, it seems like they just assembled some of their hacks that weren't doing anything at the time regardless of whether or not they have any knowledge of what NASCAR is. Especially on NASCAR Now. That show is awful, yet I usually still watch it. Right now SPEED's Truck coverage trumps anything we've seen in Cup coverage this year, and they have Michael Waltrip. I can't complain though. At least we get all the races from all three series live. |

| Re: ESPN - like or dislike coverage? Lol, Bringback, assembled some of their hacks, that is hilarious. I like Fox coverage the best but compared with NBC/TNT I think ESPN did pretty good. I haven't ever seen Nascar Now, looks like I won't bother. Have you seen that show, Quality? |

| Re: ESPN - like or dislike coverage? I liked TNT. They were they only one's that gave enough of a damn to run a pride of NASCAR series. I liked that. |

| Re: ESPN - like or dislike coverage? Wish mine was. from Sunday at 10pm to Friday about 6am, I've got nothing to do, excluding work obviously. Luckily, there's a good deal to do on the weekend here. |

| Re: ESPN - like or dislike coverage? I work full-time Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm, have class Mon-Thurs night 6pm til 10, the I go home take care of the misses and get a bite to eat. Friday evening it's mow the yard. Saturday it's do wth comes about. I think this saturday is help some family move. Then sunday it's a honey do list only interrupted by NA$CAR. She don't interrupt my NA$CAR time unless it's very important.

| Re: ESPN - like or dislike coverage? I thought they did a pretty good job. Sure they missed a few things here and there, but it's been a long time since they covered NASCAR. I think they'll get better over the next few races. Guess we'll see. What struck me was the pre-race show. NBC and FOX's pre-race coverage were dog and pony shows, more about the people in the booth than the race. There were times I wanted to throw a brick at my TV to get DW to shut up or go away. ESPN seemed more professional about it, which suits me. More about the race and the drivers than the folks in the booth. One thing I did like allot about TNT's coverage though, was Kyle Petty's Pride of NASCAR series. I enjoyed those, because I believe the history of NASCAR is very important, and should never be neglected or ignored. There's just too many great stories to tell. Sometimes I think Kyle's admiration for his dad got in the way, but who can blame him I guess. I also agree the girl on ESPN just doesn't seem like she's a NASCAR girl, but then who knows these days. And I've always liked Andy Petree. I think he'll do a good job in the booth. I loved it when he was talking about Jr. running around the track with the left front bent in from driving over the rumble strips. They played a bit of Jr's conversation on the scanner. Jr said they could fix it, but he was gonna keep running down there, so they'd have to keep fixing it. Petree said "He sounds just like his dad, he used to tell us the same thing". That was a good one, Andy. |

| Re: ESPN - like or dislike coverage? except for a few "misses", the coverage was not bad. at least the director and the booth folks seem to be on the same wavelength .. I really hate it when the announcers are talking about one car or group of cars and the camera is somewhere else. unlike the guys in the booth at Fox who "duded up", ESPN doesn't impress me as that kind of crowd so seeing the booth chick in a suit seemed out of place - maybe she doesn't have any jeans or no one told her how to dress - I expected the latest financial news to begin pouring out of her mouth at any moment. the highlight, for me anyway, was the Tech Center. Hammond's rotisserie was ok, but I think the Tech Center beat it hands down and is showing lots of potential, especially with the touch screen. however, the animation over real footage (Draft Track) could be lost without anybody caring.
