Re: Best All Around NASCAR Representative

I went with Burton. He races clean, never runs his mouth about his competitors, never wrecks someone on purpose. I think out of that bunch we had to pick from, he's the best one.

Yes this is why McMurray called me a new NASCAR fan but what is the big deal with Burton?

Re: Best All Around NASCAR Representative

i think it does make a difference where this rep will be and to whom they will be talking to

JG may not go over too well at a red-neck convention after a viewing of Deliverance ....... on the other hand .... Jimmy Spencer may not go over too well filling in for Regis

Well, I can give my personal opinion on him.

I voted Burton because for one, he's already had a good deal of success with Jack Roush, and he's recently had his career rejuvenated by Richard Childress, so the fact that he's been with the major teams and is still having success is a big reason. He's been there and done that and still has the ability to do more.

But not only that, he can be a class act without being overly nice and polite like Mark Martin can be (nothing against him though). He doesn't wait to speak out about certain things but on the track, he's as clean as they come.

He's also a major safety advocate. He had some influence in the Steel And Foam Energy Reduction walls (S.A.F.E.R. barriers) as well as the Hans and the the Hutchins device (no longer used) and some of the cockpit safety innovations.

Jeff just knows NASCAR on every level and handles himself perfectly. And again, the fact that he's a pretty good driver just adds to it.

LSC, where's Junior's name? Oops, disregard! I went back and re-read your post and I see that you are doing it in groups. I will have to go with Burton too.

Jeff Burton for all the reasons BringBackWilkesboro stated, plus he always presents himself with an enormous amount of respect for what he does, who he races, and who he's talking to. He's a class act.

I do agree.....except when he gets mad...then he fumes. I wish he would let it out and get over it.

Dont get me wrong I do like him but we all have our problems

I heard he has one of those bozo punching things with velcro on the face for the face of his current fume starter. but my source isn't reliable so it may not be true...

While I agree that Burton is a class act... I wouldn't say that he's the only class act out of them all. Clint Bowyer is one too, but he's still relatively 'new' to the Cup... but give it time you will see that he's as much of a class act as Jeff Burton.
