A Great Busch Race

A big big atta boy to Jason Leffler. He's been tryin to ruin the Cup Raider's party all season and he finally did it tonight.

For some reason, I found myself watching another Busch race that looked exactly like a Cup race, but it was worth it. It was a classic IRP race. That's the only short track where 3 wide works, we saw that multiple times. Leffler did a great job racing Reuttimann and Biffle those last laps and finally got a win. I certainly hope some Cup team considers him for a second chance, he got in over his head the first time.

By the way, IRP is probably the best short track racing you'll ever see.

Reutimann didn't seem to happy with Jason during his interview.

He did slam him pretty hard before the last caution, but they we both bangin on each other. Plus, David got the caution to get right back where he was and couldn't do anything.

Re: A Great Busch Race

Great race. I especially liked the way Jason stopped Biff's momentum going for the white flag.

Too bad Lefler went to Cup when he did. I believe that there would be a better outcome for him if he were to move up now.

Yeah, I'd rank IRP as one of the best short tracks NASCAR's three highest levels run.

Ifv you've never been to IRP, you've missed a great race park. besides the oval track they have a worls class dragstrip (They hold the NHRA Nationals there each Labour Day) plus a good road course which varies in length from 1.9 to 2.7 miles (or that's what they had the last time I attended a race there)

Oh my, a Busch driver won the Busch race. It was a great race. Nice to see Jason win and Toyota to finally get a Busch win also.

Re: A Great Busch Race

that Busch win shows the Cup guys their 3 make dominance is coming to an end and soon.

thought Jason did a masterful job .. this win is long overdue for him. didn't care for his "do", though. but if that's what it takes for him to get a "W", then I'll just look away....

Re: A Great Busch Race

That was a great race. Leffler admitted he watched Harvick last year doing slide jobs on guys, and it got him to Victory Lane, so why not do it himself? Too bad the Cup cars don't run on more tracks like IRP...............whoops, make that ORP. Another name change I can't get used to.

ORP sounds .. vulgar.

Toyota got it's first win. I'm surprised i thought Blaney or Reuttimann would get it .

Re: A Great Busch Race

It tells on ThatsRacin.com that Greg Biffle refused to talk to alot of the media after the race. He refused to visit the press box which is a mandatory obligation . Earlier this year Tony Stewart was fined $10,000 and placed on probation for the same action.

I really don't know what would of made "The Biff" so angry that he would do this.

Does anyone have any insight?

I could only find anything in regards to this story on ThatsRacin and I have 55 Nascar news sites saved to favorite's

Re: A Great Busch Race

He wasn't happy about losing but with 4 laps to go at the restart and Leffler having much fresher tires ... I'm not sure what he expected. He did give an interview with ESPN at the races end. I'm sure there are a lot of times that drivers walk right past much of the media. They probably speak with the major ones but are not interested in someones local hometown gazette.
