Kyle Busch to JGR?

Just read this on Jayski:

Kyle Busch to JGR?
Larry McReynolds is hearing that the Kyle Busch deal at Joe Gibbs Racing is very close. Now, we don't have an answer on whether they're looking to put him in the #18 car, replacing J.J. Yeley, or if they are looking at Busch for a fourth team.(FoxSports)
AND captainthunderracing.com is hearing that Kyle Busch is very close to finalizing a deal that will make him the fourth driver in the Joe Gibbs Racing stable. Sources said Busch has crossed Richard Childress Racing and Dale Earnhardt, Inc. off his list of potential teams for 2008 and beyond. Speculation also had Busch going to DEI to replace Dale Earnhardt Jr., but it appears as though the DEI/Ginn Racing merger has taken up most of the executives time at DEI and Busch never felt any warmth from the organization. An announcement is expected sometime over the next week to week and a half, most likely after the big Brickyard 400 weekend. Sources said only the details of the contract remained to be worked out, but that both parties had agreed in principle to a five year deal.(New Document)(7-27-2007)

Re: Kyle Busch to JGR?

No one wants to respond? Ok, I'll respond to myself. Smoke842, I don't know how I feel about this. Obviously Smoke himself doesn't like the 5. I didn't like him either but I feel he got a bum deal from "Mr" Hendrick, kicked out of his ride so Hendrick could bring in the biggest money maker in the sport. So I don't hate him as much, I might even start to like him a tiny tiny little bit. Maybe.

Re: Kyle Busch to JGR?

I like Kyle. I also think Hendrick done him wrong for kicking him out just to hire Jr. I think he'd do alright at Gibbs. Plus it'll give somebody else there to run the mouth and keep the press off Tony some....lol

Re: Kyle Busch to JGR?

I hope Gibbs has a fun time dealing with Kyle. Maybe Gibbs can knock some respect into him. I think Kyle will do great at Gibbs, but his attitude will get him no where.

Gibbs deals with Tony, I think he can handle Kyle.

Re: Kyle Busch to JGR?

I let it lay 'cause I'm not convinced that's where he's going. plus I don't think Gibbs is as good an opportunity for him as DEI. Tony doesn't seem like a guy who likes helping drivers get better (course I don't know what goes on behind closed doors and away from the lights and microphones, but.....) Shrub needs that guidance, and I think he knows it which is why he's been frustrated at HMS. Coach isn't going to be there to keep him straight every week and J.D. hasn't impressed me with his coaching talents. so Martin is the logical "man" to do the deed .. and he's at DEI .. now.

Gibbs may be able to handle Tony, but he will have his work cut out for him. Not only do you have to handle Tony, now you have to deal with Kyle. Having 2 guys with attitude problems like theirs on the team isn't good in my opinion. You can handle 1, but 2? Not so sure

Re: Kyle Busch to JGR?

I also think DEI is the best place for him. Especially now with Mark there. He would be a great mentor for Kyle. But I don't think Gibbs would be a bad place for him.

I thought he would go to DEI, but with DEI having 4 teams now he can't. I guess I was wrong!

We will see. After all, Jeff Hammond did say his sources told him Jr was going to Gibbs right?

Re: Kyle Busch to JGR?

DEI is the best place for Kyle Busch. With Mark Martin there he can mentor young stars like Busch and Truex. Kyle should and he will go to DEI.
