| Re: Do you guys/gals like the "Lucky Dog"? Well, I dont believe in racing back to the yellow anymore .. its dangerous .. but i tihnk there has to be a way to get your lap back .. maybe tweak it a bit (1 lucky dog a race) or something .. but its a good rule. |

| Re: Do you guys/gals like the "Lucky Dog"? Since all the drivers have given up on the gentlemans rule, NASCAR had to do something to avoid the improper racing back to the yellow. I have no real problem with it. Seems to add a level of safety that the drivers won't impose on themselves. |

Anyway, the topic was do you like the Lucky Dog, not debating how the leaders put them in that position. |

| Re: Do you guys/gals like the "Lucky Dog"? well I don't like that a car 1/2 lap behind the leaders gets a lap back. maybe go back to the last lap and any car that were lapped after the last green flag lap get it back, that it could be 2-3-5 cars a than it might be 0, just like when you used to race back, there was no garrenty that anyone was getting a lap back, if not that then how about the first car not on the lead lap, yeah he might be a few laps back, but he was the last one the leader caught and would have been the one fighting back to the flag. was JG at like darlington that came back from like three laps down to finish on the lead lap with a series of late cautions and a fast car .

| Re: Do you guys/gals like the "Lucky Dog"? Couple of things to keep in mind. Strategy also comes into play for the lucky dog. There are situations where a driver actually will stay the lap down, but first one down, to insure they get the lap back without having to cover the entire track. If you were going to let 2-3-4 or more cars back onto the lead lap then you are really letting too many gain with no pain. |

| Re: Do you guys/gals like the "Lucky Dog"? I like the lucky dog it's much safer, but I agree with (was it Nevada?, now can't remember, sorry) whoever said that each driver should only get it once every race. I just remember DJ sitting in the middle of the track and having cars come at him racing back to the yellow (you all probably remember that, that was what started the lucky dog) . That was scary. | Re: Do you guys/gals like the "Lucky Dog"? I guess I'm really torn about only getting it once per race. If you're (NASCAR) going to impose this rule (lucky dog) then it should apply each and every time that the situation allows it to happen. What if "X" driver gets his lap back and then goes down yet another lap. Does the next one in line get it or does no one get it ? I think overall it works fine the way it is. Keep in mind that it really is the drivers that created the "Lucky Dog" system anyway. They just couldn't keep the "gentleman's" agreement intact. With that said it should be understood that there never was a rule that stated that everyone must stay in line. Racing back to the yellow just seemed to become, or always was, unsafe. Then again with the electronics technology of today they know what position each car is in anyway so they could in effect put them back into the corect order but not without a fight from the crew chief. The more I type the more confused I'm getting myself. |

| Re: Do you guys/gals like the "Lucky Dog"? Like I said above, they should do it like the trucks........revert back to the previous lap. Its safe and nobody gets to go around the track for free. This ain't Monopoly where you get a "Get out of Jail Free" card. |
