That was way back when NASCAR was a sport, Steve. In the world of sports, inter-club business is usually conducted in the off-season. Now it all business. Inter-club business is conducted at any time, whenever it make monetary sense.

I hate to bring this up again, but because of the "more money, right now" attitude of the team owners, silly season is all season. Someone's seat is always in limbo.

I suspect you were aware I was being just a tad cynical. It really seems to have distracted from the actual "sport(?)" of racing this year. There is more press on what next year is going to look like. Almost like they have written this year off already ... at least to a degree.

kinds like most everything else the media is engrossed with .. what's current isn't important only what will (or might) be.
