| Sorenson Gets 1st Win In 2 years ![]() While other Nextel Cup drivers were enjoying the weekend off, Reed Sorenson spent his in victory lane. Sorenson, driving Chip Ganassi Racing's No. 41 Dodge, won the Gateway 250 Busch Series race at Gateway International Raceway on Saturday night. The victory was Sorenson's first in two years, when he also won at Gateway, and ended a streak of 61 races without a victory. Sorenson charged past David Reutimann on the outside in Turn 1 on a restart with 42 laps to go and pulled away. A caution with 21 laps to go slowed the race, but Sorenson was too strong, easing away from Reutimann and Scott Wimmer to score his third career Busch victory, The win was the first for Ganassi since its two Busch teams swapped crews, with crew chief Brad Parrott and his team taking over the No. 41. Wimmer finished second for Richard Childress Racing, with Reutimann third for Michael Waltrip Racing. Jason Leffler (Braun Racing) was fourth with David Ragan (Roush Fenway Racing) fifth. Carl Edwards (Roush Fenway) was sixth, followed by Kevin Hamlin (Ganassi), Ron Hornaday (Kevin Harvick Inc.), J.J. Yeley (Phoenix Racing), and Todd Bodine (Germain Racing). Sorenson ends drought with Busch Series win |

| Re: Sorenson Gets 1st Win In 2 years Just another example of how a good developmental series, Busch Grand National, has turned into Cup Lite, where Cup Raiders, with their Cup teams, Cup technology, and Cup financing, [surprisingly - hahahaha] outshine the BGN [only] regulars. IMNSVHO, the biggest star of last night's show was "The Onion," (Todd Bodine) running Germaine Racing Toyota's first Cup Lite race. He was leading and had a good chance to win if he hadn't have had an altercation with another car passing him under yellow to take advantage of the stupid "Lucky Dog" rule.

I hope he does, but the competition is so strong. The top 20 drivers are hard to contend with. There are teams and certain drivers who are going to win consistantly and there are some that won't. Even I get bored seeing Gordon win all the time (did I say that out loud?) But dang somebody has to run in the back or they would all be on top of each other. I like to root for the underdogs occasionally........ |

| Re: Sorenson Gets 1st Win In 2 years LOL oh well, at the very least he shows enthusiasm. I have been listening to the radio lately, those guys (I have no idea who they are) will be talking and then all of a sudden they will shout "Whoa look at that" LOL. Cracks me up because if your listening to the radio you can't look at that. |
