That is the best thing you have said since you joined! I actually agree with that!

I do think we should cut off the points at about 25th to 30th place, just to stop these taped up cars from coming out and being pylons, even if just for a lap. Cars 30-40 laps down need to just stay parked, and maybe a rule cutting off any awarding of points at a certain point would be a GREAT idea!

Ok....I wont say I agree with you because thats impossible, but I think maybe if your 2...maybe three laps or more down then the points should be taken away....

Now that would not work. YOu award points or you don't. The only thing I would take points away for would be breaking the rules, as they do now. Whether is is behavior, cheating, whatever. It shold just be set up like any other rule.

Only the top 6 in F1 get points and they still get plenty of cars.

maybe if your 10 more lapps down you must park it.
that way if the car is torn up bad enough to go to the garage, it doesn't take long to go ten lapps down.

now a hicup on that would be if at martinsville jeff/jr./jj/ or insert star here busts a gear, take 20 lapps to fix but then he's the fastest car on the track.

Except the pay check they get. Most of the smaller teams don't race for points, they race for the pay check.

I know they all race for points. But they had said changing the points would give the better part of 30 drivers no reason to show up on Sundays. That's what I was talking about. Even if the ones finishing close to last didn't get points, they'd still be there because of the checks. It just seems like the ones that race and always start at the end and finish at the end, they gotta be there for the money instead of points. Take the points away and they'll still be there.

you're right about non-racing for the check. perfect example: Derike Cope - always shows up for the Daytona 500, usually is fast enough to make the field, but lately is always the first car out .. picks up his quarter mil check for starting and he's outta there... think the COT may have stopped that little scam .. now they need a brand new car for 2008.

Where did the current point system come from or better yet why were the numbers chosen ? As a thought why didn't they award 43 points on down to one point ? It might make for a closer race to the championship ...maybe.
