Bristol Busch Race

Kenny Wallace was saying Jeff Gordon may run the NASCAR Busch Series race at Bristol. Can anyone confirm or is someone spreading rumors?

Re: Bristol Busch Race

I wish all the cup drivers would stay out. No offence to Jeff at all, but we don't need more cup drivers in there.

Just my opinion.

This will be the first time Jeff has raced in a Busch race since 2000 if he indeed will. Wallace said Jeff wants to run it so he can learn more about the new concrete surface that Bristol will have. But those are all rumors at this point.

I can see why he would want too. I know all these guys just want to race. And he doesn't hog it up, I know it has been a while.

Persoanlly, the Busch whacking and the top 35 spots in Cup are two areas I would like to see cleaned up during the off season.

What Harvick did last year, and Edwards is doing this year, are just sucking the like out of that series.

Restrictor Plates. But only for drivers running fulltime in Cup. That would end all the Buschwackers.

Re: Bristol Busch Race

a friend was just at Bristol this weekend and went on a tour, the new track was said to have a hill on the straights (if I understand correctly)
off the turn uphill down hill going in.
there is supposed to be a latemodel race there soon to help break in the new suface.
they beieve the new surface will produce 7 MPH faster lap speeds.and three wide racing

should be a great race this time around

Re: Bristol Busch Race

I think he just ment that maybe drivers that never run Busch might run just to learn more, like Johnson, Sadler,Rudd, or other drivers like that.

He specifically said "Even Jeff Gordon may run a Busch race to learn more about the new concrete". Jeff hasn't ran in the Busch Series since 2000, so it would be interesting to see how he fairs if he does run the Busch race.
