ESPN has a Who's Now tournament going on, it takes the top 32 Stars in all of sports, puts them in a bracket, and lets the fans decide who they think is the most "NOW" Athlete, Out of the 32 Stars in the field two guys are representing Nascar, No suprise as to whom it is, Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
A week ago Dale Earnhardt Jr. (4 seed) went up against Chuck Liddell (5 seed), and defeated Lidell by a margin of 61% to 38% of the votes, No suprise here UFC vs. Nascars most popular driver, personally I would have thought the Margin would have been higher!
The suprise to me was that Jeff Gordon (also a 4 vs. 5 seed matchup) beat Barry Bonds (the soon to be home run king) by an eerily same margin 62% to 37%! I know that Gordon got alot of votes because of the Bonds Haterz, but the same could be said for Bonds on the vice versa!
In either case good to see the nation coming around, any attention to Nascar is good attention if you ask me, unfortunatly though I think neither will make it past round two, as Junior will go up against "Mr. Football" Peyton Manning, and Gordon as the unenvyable task of going heads up against the "The King", no not that king, basketballs Lebron James!
Anyways get up and vote to keep the spirit of Nascar in the Tournament alive!
