3 and 20

i know this almost blastphomy but i think they are very comparable...

earnhardt could bang the crap out of you and it would be racing and you could do the same to him and he would throw a water bottle at you or call you rubber head...

seems to me like tony stewart act pretty much the same way...

Re: 3 and 20

rusty wallace threw a water bottle at dale.
kevin harvick called kurt bush rubberhead at daytona a few years back.

dale was fine if you raced him like he raced you, remember mayfield at pocono in the 12 car.

dale didn't put his foot in his mouth like tony does, but both are/were aggressive drivers.

Re: 3 and 20

yeah you're right it was rusty who threw the water bottle at dale because dale wrecked rusty...

and dale called rusty rubberhead back when rusty drove the 27 kodiak car, because sr. had a nickname of ironhead at the time...

and i have seen him put his foot in his mouth how about when he and rudd wrecked in '89 and he was upset and should be suspended for the rest of the year...

look sr. was a great driver somewhere in the top 3 all time easy...

i am just saying there are similiarties with he and stewart and stewart is just like any other great athlete he thinks he does no wrong and that is part of why he is as good as he is...

Sr and Stewart aren't similar, because Stewart is an idiot and Sr wasn't.

you think people never had the same kind of words for Earnhardt when he was alive? i think we all remember what he did with Kurt Busch in the same race he died in...

look i am in no way trying to disrespect the man, i think it is a compliment to Stewart by me to include him in this statement...

but to totally discount Stewart's ability to drive just because you don't like him is foolish...

I like what Dale did for the sport of NASCAR but when he used the crash & pass style of driving he got my vote for being somewhat mentally challenged as a driver.

The only time he would use the crash and pass move when it was for the win. Sure, he did have his run ins with drivers, but who doesn't?

Stewart calls the younger drivers idiots and morons, and don't give them advice at all. Sr on the other hand would help the young guys coming up and give them advice. Sr could have easily called Gordon an idiot back in 1993, but Sr decided to give him some advice and it payed off big time. Sr did not just help Gordon, he helped many young guys coming into the sport. If he saw something he didn't like, he would pull you over and make sure you learned what was right and wrong. But I don't see Stewart doing that, all I see him doing is calling people idiots and not giving good informative advice at all.

Since I love opinions I accept your response as just that. We've had the crash & pass discussion before and once again and still my feeling is that bumping in the corners, causing an accident is not racing. Pass me fair and square and you get the position and maybe the win. Michael Waltrip in 43rd place could crash and pass but since that wouldn't be for the win it is wrong. In truth there is no difference from 1st place or 42nd place when it comes to that style of driving.

My opinion.

We have indeed had this discussion before, and I stand by my opinion; if it is for the win during the closing laps, you do whatever it takes. I do not think you should use the crash and pass move for 2nd on back however.
