DEI to name replacement!

By the end of this month, personally I think it will either be Kahne or Bill Lester!

I didn't even think of Bill Lester! I think Kahne is the front runner. I still think Kyle may go to Ginn, but anything's possible. I'll take the safe choice and stick with Kahne, although I'd like to see Lester get a shot.

Re: DEI to name replacement!

I'm going with Kyle. Biffle signed a year extension with Roush and unless Everham brings a partner in Kasey is still under contract there.

Kasey said last week, he's not going anywhere and that all this stuff about him leaving is nothing more than rumors. Kyle is obviously the #1 choice.

From everything I read, Shrub's might go to Childress. He'd probably be a good fit there.

Now that Truex Jr. has established himself as a major player, rather than picking up an aged veteran, how about this: Buy the #13 from Ginn (I read that it's up for sale, and has a top 35 spot), then go down to Cup Lite or CTS and try to get another Mark Martin (someone who tried it in Cup, failed for whatever reason but now might be ready to try again). Jason Leffler comes to mind, Brendan Gaughn is another.

Menard is good to have around because of Daddy's sponsorship bucks, but beyond that the kid hasn't shown me much except a propensity to grow scruffy-looking goatees and sideburns.

I hadn't thought about that. But that may be what they're doing, bringing somebody from busch or trucks.
She may be looking for 2 drivers. I read somewhere that Menard might be taking his $$$$ and going somewhere else.

Bill Lester! I don't think so! If I had to guess, I would say Kyle Busch.

I like Leffler in that scenario. He's technically leading the Busch Series standings and contending against the cup invasion in a car owned by Todd Braun. He previously drove for Ganassi on the cup side, and you could argue that DEI is a step up from that.

I do believe however it will end up being one of the current cup drivers mentioned.

Re: DEI to name replacement!

Looking at what is available at this time I'd go with Kyle Busch. He is a hard driver and since DEI is upgrading their equipment this might be a good fit for all of them. PLUS ..... any victories here would be mud in the face of Jr and HMS. I'm sure Teresa would love that.

My feelings exactly on Leffler. I believe his last stint in Cup ended with being the initial FedEx driver for Gibbs, wasn't it?

I can't count the number of good drivers who didn't get a chance in Cup because a seat they might have had was, instead given to some Cup vet who was on his way down the food chain. The vet got it, not because of talent or potential, but rather because of name recognition.

I'd like to see Jason get another shot at Cup. Like Mark Martin, I don't think that he was ready for it the first time around.

One thing for sure, if Ginn puts the #13 team on the auction block, it won't stay there for long. Someone'll scoop that one up quicker than Barry Bonds'd shoot a steroid.

Re: DEI to name replacement!

Contracts are worth less than the paper they're written on, Kyle was also on contract for another year, and sure Kasey has to say that everything is just rumors, in case he stays with the team, wasn't it HMS that said sorry but we got no room for Dale Junior, then signed him a week later, people say what they have to! Bill Lestor was a rumor started by Jayski! I mean if your going to replace Dale Jr. you have to swing for the fences with a Kahne or Busch, I dont think you can put a Leffler in the car!

Bob, you're forgetting the real reason the vets get the ride. Past Champion provisionals !!! A free ticket to th eparty.
