| Re: Busch series chase! I'm one of those that hate the invasion of cup drivers into the Busch series. It would be easy to say that none of the cup drivers could go for the championship but ...... when a driver, cup or Busch, runs the entire Busch series why shouldn't he be eligible for the championship ?? Now what would you say if Mark Martin ends up in the top 12 for the cup series ?? Sorry you can't compete because you didn't make every race ??? Points are points, if you're in the top 12 then you are in. My feeling is that you should not be able to run in the Busch series if you are a cup driver. If they weren't racing at the same tracks most weeks you'd never see the cup drivers in the race. It is nothing more than a free test session. Maybe next year will be different. Cup will be COT and Busch will keep what they have now.

| Re: Busch series chase! you know here's the thing, i know people hate the whole cup regulars in busch but when you look at it really doesn't matter and there may be a bigger problem at hand... the busch series does not matter at all for anything other than a little more cash for nascar and the owners... it is not like it is used for developing drivers anymore... younger and younger drivers are being developed in busch east and i am not sure what is out west since it is obviously not winston west anymore... guys like jon wood will eventually get to a cup ride and roll around in the 21 for awhile and if he has some good runs he will get attention from a bigger opp. and leave the family team and go there... young guys are getting more and more chances all the time, sponsors don't won't old drivers... the days of jimmy hensley and bobby hamilton being almost 40 or older and winner the rookie of the year are over... and i know back then it was very cyclical with a rookie class sometimes it would be a bunch of young guys ('93 labonte, gordon, wallace) and then you'd have one or two busch regulars who finally got a shot and then more young guys and good would not make the race... but that is over, rookies are going to keep getting younger and younger... pretty soon NASCAR is going to have their own lebron or sydney crosby who turns 18 and plays in the big leagues... even the truck series is sorta different as far as development goes, the racing down there is great but mostly it is for a bunch of cast offs who aren't even has beens, the guys who do develop down there hardly run a full season much less battle for a championship... so unfortunately the busch series is toast and i think AB knows that as well and that is why next year it won't be the busch series... to get life back into that series they probably need to do something drastic like race suv's or something...

| Re: Busch series chase! ya gotta remember next year Cup is all COT. that means any Buschwackers will be doing it for racings sake not to help their Cup ride. luckily there's a few teams that are intent on their Busch driver development and don't see it as a testing center for Cup. and there's some high profile Busch team owners that don't have a cup team nor plans for one (Jr. Motorsports and Kevin Harvick Racing to name just two.) the farther apart NASCAR makes Cup and Busch cars, the better it will be for the Busch series (or whatever it's gonna be called). I agree, it ain't good right now, but the winds of change are blowing and it's gonna be for the better, I think. now if we could just find a way to get the neverwas's and usetobe's outa CTS, NASCAR racin' would be rosy. why don't some of you young folks work on that one while I fine tune my "3-a-day Chase Race" rules..... |

| Re: Busch series chase! Nascar says they dont stop Nextel guys from driving in the Busch series because it boost attendance when a Nextel driver is racing, but I say limit the Nextel guys to 10 or so races a year in the Busch series, I also like that reverse chase idea! |

| Re: Busch series chase! maybe they should do a limit to 1 points entry for the three division, you can still race the others but you don't get pioints and only half the prize money, other half goes to point fund. this would allow busch guys to run a cup race or 2 to try thier hand, but in reverse you'd still have a busch regular win the championship, and add to his/her resume. when was the last non cup busch champion harvick in 01, was only going to run a few cup races but ended running all but 1, does that count ???
