| A Couple of RUMORS The operand word here is R-U-M-O-R! Last night on Wind Tunnel, Robin Miller (Not known for the accuracy of his predictions) indicated that Ryan Newman may be looking for another ride next season and that Sam Hornish is a done deal to either take the #12 or the #2 (Penske is rumored to be fed up with Kurt's embarrassing adventures) ride, or to start a third Penske/Miller team. (Shades of Brenden Gaughn!) IF Newman leaves Penske, or if Kurt Busch leaves Penske...? Supposedly Dan Wheldon has conquered all in the open wheeled world that he feels he can conquer and is chomping at the bit to move to NASCAR and earn some real money, in front of packed grandstands. Like Montoya, he has ties with Ganassi and I would think that Ganassi MIGHT be having the same conversation with both Stremme and Sorenson that J.D. Gibbs had with J.J. Yeley last month. Again, both of these possibilities come from a couple of pretty warped minds, and two guys who have turned minor personality disorders into art forms (Robin Miller and myself) Any thoughts on the rumors?

| Re: A Couple of RUMORS Newman's gotta be thinking about doing something. He's the Rocketman, he (one year) won a noticeable number of poles ----- and then there's --- Well his story kinda stops there. Open wheel increasingly is the source for new NASCAR drivers. I've often wondered if the majority of racing that goes on is perhaps open wheel, making this almost a no brainer. Isn't Hornish already putting in some Busch time with Penske? Think that's true, and if so, chance exists that next move could be Penske Cup ride. Can't be surprised that any IRL or Champ Car driver would look at NASCAR as a possibility. And, in turn one would expect that NASCAR owners would be most interested in the top guns there as likely candidates. Might's well get the best possible competing head to head. Keeps it interesting/fun/entertaining. Last edited by wingkey1 : 07-02-2007 at 10:40 AM. Reason: clarify |

| Re: A Couple of RUMORS I think all the dodhge boy are jumping the gun trying to move on, yes this is a bad year for dodge but I think it will turn around next year. I bet that dodge and toyo get something from nascar to help them get up front more. nascar has already given toyo a new intake (I think thats what is was) and that has helped them some. I'm sure nascar wants to stop the chevy dominance this year, they don't want to lose ford or dodge any time soon.

| Re: A Couple of RUMORS The Wind Tunnel and speed channel were nothing but a joke...when it came to Jr. the night before the announcment they said its a done deal, he's racing for jr motorsports driving Hendrick engines and chasis...after that I discredit everything said on there as pure rumors! Look at Penske, they are finally coming around so what reason do they have to clean house and rebuild again! |
