What year's it from? - not ignorin' ya, will have to give that some thought/research. Seem to recall the three car set was acquired via mail back to Kelloggs. Did personally get the autograph. Might be relegated to the date on the packaging if cannot fire appropriate brain cell on exactly when we got autograph. Likely near/at time of first championship.
Had started to notice JG thru/during his dirt period. Was near impossible not to notice. Seem to recall something like "Thursday Night Thunder" on ESPN (think it was Thursday) that covered dirt track stuff. Believe there was occasion that he flipped (spun?), righted self, never lifted, finished well. May well have been the point that we truly "noticed".
Figured (wrongly) destination was open wheel. When he showed in Busch instead, we paid more attention. About the same time we learned that Evernham was best man for close acquaintenance of ours that we were Quarter Midget racing with/against. Naturally this increased our level of interest.
Sorry for long wind. Will see if we can get dating info on the collectable.
