Bears coach Lovie Smith has been named the Grand Marshal for the USG Sheetrock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. The NASCAR Nextel Cup race is at 3 p.m. July 15.

Smith will declare the most famous words in racing, "Gentlemen, start your engines!" He'll then ride in the Grand Marshal car in front of the pace car leading the drivers onto the track.

"It's a great honor to be the Grand Marshal for this year's NASCAR event at Chicagoland Speedway," Smith said. "I think our football team and NASCAR drivers have a common trait: we all like to play fast. I look forward to watching some of the best drivers in the world compete for the checkered flag. It will be an exciting afternoon."
