yep, put his wetted finger in the wind and decided the wind was in his face, not at his back - too much trouble for so small a chance of victory. might as well take his toys and go home .. and wait for another day when the conditions may favor him more.

Another HMS victory will wipe away any bad memories of this event.

The fact that he's a convicted felon doesn't bother me all that much, Petty. (G. Gordon Liddy is a convicted felon and he's ranks pretty high on the "Tanner Scale") What really sticks in my craw about Rick is my philosophy of, "If you do the crime, be man enough to do the time." During his trial, which was pretty much a no-brainer that he was stone-solid guilty, Rick "came down with" a rare case of blood cancer and might be close to being on his death bed. (Today I believe this might be termed "The Paris Hylton Syndrome?) After he was found guilty by a jury of his peers he was sentenced to a prison term (Five year I think it was but am not sure). Rick's lawyer appealed the sentence on health reason and got the sentence overturned to Ricks being on house arrest until the Grim Reaper took him or until his sentence was vacated, whichever came first, but according to Hendrick's lawyer and doctors, the Reaper was a 5 to 2 bet.
Funny thing then happened.. Almost immediately after the appealment was official, Rick's "rare cancer" went into remission, never to be heard from again. Could jail be the illusive cure for cancer?

THAT's what I have against the putz. Character-wise, the guy is, IMNSVHO an almost total loser.

Tanner Scale... A theoretical meter which measures the character, ethical value and patriotism of Americans, from FDR, Lydon Johnson and Hilary Clinton at the bottom, to Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt and Bob Tanner at the top. <g>
