Exclamation Penalties Imposed

Musgrave Suspended 1 Race for Milwaukee Incident

Jun 27, 5:17 PM (ET)

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -Ted Musgrave was suspended one race Wednesday for retaliating against another driver during the Truck Series race at the Milwaukee Mile. Musgrave, the 2005 Truck Series champion, must sit out Saturday night's race at Memphis Motorsports Park. He was also penalized 50 points, fined $10,000 and placed on probation through the end of the year.
Musgrave wrecked with rookie Kelly Bires on Friday night in Milwaukee. He restarted his truck, chased down Bires and forced him into the wall. NASCAR immediately parked him for the rest of the race.
Mike Hillman Sr., general manager of Germain Racing, said Musgrave will be replaced this weekend by Brad Keselowski.
Musgrave's suspension is the first for a driver since Jimmy Spencer was not allowed to race at Bristol in 2003 for punching Kurt Busch after a race in Michigan.

Kind of makes me wonder why Kurt wasn't forced to sit out a race for his actions recently.

In respect to the Spencer/Busch incident .... Kurt should have gotten an award for getting Spencer off the race track for a week.

Maybe they both should have gotten lifetime suspensions. I'd still be in favor of that. It's never to late.

That wouldn't be so bad.

Don't forget, Jimmy parlayed that into a spot on Speed. Maybe we can get Kurt to co-host that show. Now that would be great.

I think there's a lot of difference between the two incidents. for instance, Musgrave stalked the other driver then wrecked him. Kurt vs Tony was only shaking fists and scaring a crewmen (a little bit) no post incident banging.

Bires is a rookie and it's obvious if you saw the video that he was only guilty of being a rookie. Musgrave wrecked because the rookie didn't do what Ted thought/wanted him to do. Musgrave has been around way too long to let a rookie's mistake cause him to loose his temper like that.

it's not inconsistent .. if you saw the Musgrave incident, you'd want him permanently suspended - way out of control temper tantrum...

I saw a highlight of it. He ran against a truck, but that's all they showed. Did something else happen?

Obviously King you don't know how I feel about Jimmy Spencer, Larry Mac, DW and the rest of the village idiots more commonly called announcers. Adding Kurt to the blend would only give me more ammunition for spewing venom here on GTG NASCAR.

Musgrave was charging back to the front when he and Bires got together. Musgrave spun and killed the engine. Bires continued on. Musgrave restarted and ran Bires down and pushed him into the wall then drove away. NASCAR parked Musgrave when he came into the pits for repairs.

I was glad they did too. Thats was kinda stupid of Musgrave and he knew better. Maybe he forgot he was a rookie before and made mistakes also. Heck when he done that you would have thought he was a rookie then.

So you don't like them I see. They do give some rare moments of good commentary, and Kenny Wallace is the best of the bunch. He gives the show a whole new meaning of "reporting". Kenny is the only one that I can listen to without getting a little mad.
