I just looked at the NASCAR website and they're showing Brian in the race lineup at 28th. Yahoo Sports doesn't have anything on this.

where did you get this information?

The driver's should be suspended for a long time or the crew chiefs? "A long time" is overkill if you're talking drivers. And don't worry about getting thrown out at Dover. You won't get anywhere near Johnson or Gordon or most of the other drivers for that matter unless you know somebody who knows somebody who's brother's monkey's sister can get you close to the big names. It's just not that easy anymore to even get within shouting distance. It never hurts to try, I guess.

This is obviously a false story. It would be on NASCAR's site, and it isn't. Whoever posted this is telling false stories.

If Vickers failed inspection, it would be all over the NASCAR site. So I doubt this story.

Even if he did fail inspection, he would have to go home because he isn't in the top 35. Gordon and Johnson were in the top 35, so they were able to race. Remember that before going off about how NASCAR is this and that.

I'll be damn! The kid was right, Duck.

Vickers goes home as car fails post-qualifying tech: Brian Vickers' #83 Team Red Bull Toyota failed post-qualifying inspection Friday afternoon at New Hampshire International Raceway, knocking the team out of the Lenox Industrial Tools 300 field and giving the spot to BAM Racing's #49-Chad Chaffin. The car for Vickers was ruled to be an eighth of an inch too low on its left front, and Vickers' qualifying time was disallowed. The team was looking at shocks and springs to see why the car was too low.(SceneDaily.com)(6-29-2007)

I guess a Cup team can be sent home for failing inspection. I presume the mitigating factor is that the team owners name can not start with H-E-N or P-E-N..., eh?

Congratulations, NA$CAR you did it again! I have always argued that NA$CAR does not show partiality toward the mega-teams but it's getting damn hard to support that argument.

Vickers was sent home because he isn't in the top 35. He failed inspection, therefore his time was disallowed. He isn't in the top 35, which means he won't be able to race. That's why he was sent home.

isnt that a bit nit-picky ? how much difference does an 1/8 of an inch make in down-force ?
