| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage I hate the fuel milage races also. I like Robby and was really hoping he would win. I can understand him about upset about the difference in the milage, but he had the same chance as everyone else had to stop and get fuel. Like Ken Schrader said on Inside Nextel tonight, Sunoco gives us the fuel and it's free and everybody was talking about being low on fuel. But there is one thing I don't understand. Nascar has the same size fuel cell for all the cars. So why were they talking about different ones getting different amounts in them? Greg Biffle said after practice Sat., he and another driver( I forgot who) both ran out of fuel and coasted to the pumps. Biffle said his held 18+ gallons and the other car held 19+. Maybe thats why some was getting better milage, cause they were able, some how, to get more fuel? |

| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage Let's not also forget the NUMEROUS times he had a huge lead erased by a caution. Tough day all around for Robby. Gordon definitely has a point though. "You look at the monitor and look at the guys who beat us and they were nowhere all day long," he's quoted as saying in this article. "With our rental program that we get, obviously we don't get the same mileage that [Greg] Biffle and [Ricky] Rudd do -- and we're gonna have to discuss that because we weren't gonna make it." I thought NASCAR was working hard with the COT to try and create an even playing field. Obviously, that's not the case.

| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage I agree it was a tough day for him. And yes the cautions did fall at bad times for him. But he still could have pitted for fuel only and still had time to work his way up. His car was fast enough for that. He decided to take a chance and it didn't play out for him. I hate it for him, but they have to take some of the blame also for not pitting. |

| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage i dont hate fuel milage races because i know once i say i hate it labonte will win one because of it and ill be the bigest fan of fuel milage races.dont forget that you cant just be fast in any race period you have to have some kind of strategy.why do you think j.johnson has bean running so good its because they always go in with a game plan.the tortis will always beat the hair unless the hair has a better pit strategy. |

| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage I think I hate it when they complain about the race being a mileage race. It's the same for every team. To get better mileage you have to give up something. To get more speed you must give up something. Strategies and skill are all a part of the sport.

| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage The reason why I like fuel mileage races is precisely because it forces the teams to think! The drivers are not just stampeding the track trying to go the fastest - heck if you want that then go watch drag racing! Those of you complaining that fuel mileage races are not for the fast cars, you are 100% wrong! Look at the finishing time of the winning car. Did the winning car cover the required distance? If the answer is yes, then the winning car crossed the finish line first making him the fastest since he crossed the stripe before anyone else! How can you then say that the fastest car didn't win? |

| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage With all the hoopla surrounding the modifications done on Johnson and Gordon's car body, I can't believe that the enigine, transmission, fuel system are standardized to be exactly the same as well. Everybody should be getting the same mpg and have the same fuel capacity. Am I wrong about this?

| Re: Gordon Whining About Fuel Mileage Right, all teams had a choice of carbs, either 750cfm or 850cfm. That choice is what made the difference. |
