Re: Texas Motor Speedway Race

Getting through the pack, avoiding accidents and being in the lead at the end is a lot different than being the fastest in practice. He's not my first choice for a win but he is certainly on my short list of those that I would be happy to see win.

Am I the only one who thinks that the BUSCH BROTHERS should BOTH be benched for a while for rough driving. I'm not a Biffle fan nor am I a Bower fan but it was obvious that these two brothers need to be tought a lesson or two.

Re: Texas Motor Speedway Race

It sure looked like Kurt just flat punted Biffle, but in Kurts defense why was Biffle going so slow, when he was so fast earlier? I mean he was the fastest car in the field just a few laps before that. There was talk that Greg lost a cylinder, but he didnt act like in when being interviewed. I'm no big Kurt Busch fan, but I do think he is professional enough to know you don't drive up someones rear going 190 MPH. He didnt do that getting his championship with Roush

As far as Kyle.......he's too young, cocky and impatient to be at this level.

But all is good, my main man Kasey Kahne smoked the field. I would have picked him to win instead of 2nd, but Tony has been so strong lately. 50 laps earlier, I would have won Ross's contest with my picks of Tony 1st, Kasey 2nd.

Re: Texas Motor Speedway Race

Hi, ladybugg518, and welcome to GoTeamsGo. Thanks for joining us here in the NASCAR forums. I'm afraid I didn't get to see the race, so I have to go by heresay on the Biffle-Busch incident.

In a post-race AP report, Biffle said "When you're the guy that all you have to do is lift on the gas pedal a little bit and elect not to run into the car in front of you on the straightaway, that's pretty unforgivable." Busch, meanwhile, claims that he was trying to get out of the way and that he "had no place else to go.''

Those of you who saw the incident - what's your take on it?

Re: Texas Motor Speedway Race

Oh, and by the way, how about Kahne becoming the first polesitter ever to win at Texas? That's really something!

Re: Texas Motor Speedway Race

I think it's great that Kahne won but keep in mind that the last 4 winners in Texas were all out of the race at some point today. Not a good stat.

I dont think its fair to downplay Kaseys win today, saying that previous winners were out of the race. He was the fastest car on the track for the majority of the race. Although, it would take him quite a few laps to get up to speed after cautions........except the last one......when he checked out.
He deserved that win, his car was on rails!

Man, you sure almost had it right! And there for awhile I thought Nevadastars had it. My picks sure weren't close, it's a good thing I don't gamble, although I was just gambling on a $1.7 million prize! It's great to see Kahne win it and do it from the pole! What a great Birthday present for him!! Way to go Kahne! Still wish he drove for Yates. Hey ladybugg518, glad you found us, as for the B & B issue, I want to replay it again, but I thought it looked like maybe Biffle "slowed", I want to check it out again, maybe it will look different from another view.

re: race prediction contest

No outright winner but feel free to pop in with your opinion on the prediction contest in the new contest thread that I just started. Let's keep all the chat about the predictions over there & leave this thread to discuss the race.

Thanks, Ross

Sorry I wasn't downplaying Kasey's win at all. I am glad he did win. It's great to see someone who has the car be able to avoid any incidents and win. I was just repeating a point they had made on TV about the past 4 winners.
