Larry Carter what is up?

ok i really like so far what Larry Carter has done for Jamie so far. But yesterday was awful. On the radio they say they are pitting on lap 72 no matter what green or yellow. so the yellow comes out and they pit on lap 68 or 69, whatever it was. So right away they know they are three laps short. So I don't understand why they don't do a splash and go and hopefully finish in the top 30 instead of just letting it run out. I mean McMurray is trying to race into the chase, this isn't Casey Mears trying to make his season by winning one race on a prayer. I just don't understand any of the logic behind what happend yesterday to Jamie.

you do them an injustice .. Jamie would have had a top15 for sure with just a splash and go around 3-5 laps to go. but not sticking to their original plan was the killer. the teams that did were successful... lesson learned??? let's hope so.

yeah i was exaggerating; i am just super frustrated...

when they do somethine like that it makes me feel like they don't take themselves seriously; like they have to have a fuel mileage fluke to win a race; realize you made a mistake put the gas in the car and stay close to the chase and the wins will come later i know jamie really wants a win badly to legitmize his contract and winning his second race ever but this was just the worst call of the year if you ask me...

Re: Larry Carter what is up?

gas mileage isn't an exact science , lots of times teams are 1 lap short but finish and still go the cool down lap and drive the the garage. so at first they were hoping for a caution, when that didn't come they tryied to save gas but were in a battle for the lead. when it played out they decided to go for the win and not points race, I say way to go even if you came up short.................gutsy call! :thumb:

i am sorry but i totally and respectfully disagree with that, i mean yeah i wanted to see him win the race but more than that i want him in the chase and to have a good showing there. and i realize it isn't over he is out 129 points with 10 races left and i really feel like at least one spot will open up for sure (kyle busch) so i am not totally discouraged just a little frustrated as to what i believe the priority was yesterday.

and one that could have been taken care of earlier in the race. Said, who finished 9th, was running an R/Y engine and he was slower than Jamie and had longer pit stops... also, it's almost impossible to lose a lap on a pit stop at Infineon - Stremme, the slowest car on the track finished on the lead lap in 32nd!!!

I share your frustration .. either Robby or Jamie should have won...
