There's no egg on my face! I missed the race yesterday for reasons I'd rather not get into, and am just checking in with GTG now. If any of you think I avoided GTG yesterday because Montoya won, you're wrong. I didn't even know. For those of you who know me, you know I am not one who avoids good banter.

Damn! I wish I did see the race to see what Montoya can do. So I was wrong. Big flippin' deal. So now, I'm sitting here again ... only this time, "eating crow". At least I can admit it!

No need to get all up in my face over it! Some of you are ruthless, but I can take it. I posted what I posted, "terrible" or not, and based on what I knew at the time, will stand by it.

Where's the love, huh? Disappointed ...

I hope everything is okay. I have to say just in the short time I've been using the forum I've never notice you back down, so I don't think thats why you weren't here.I wish you could have seen the race yesterday. All in all it was a good one.
I had said Jr would find a way to blow his 3rd place start too. But he finally did pretty good.

Sounds like I missed a great race. If there's one thing I enjoy, it's watching someone come up through the field as opposed to getting in front and just driving around the track ... and you know who I mean.

Regardless of my impression of Montoya at this time, I would have enjoyed watching him come to the front.

How'd Stewart do? He's another one who's usually pretty good on a road course. Rusty was too. Looks like Gordon and Johnson didn't do too bad considering their start.

Oh, well ... next time.

Re: Montoya Fans: Cat got your tongue?

Tony did well, finished sixth. Gordon and JJ were really impressive the way they moved up, and I still can't believe Montoya somehow managed to stretch his gas enough to win that thing. It was an OK race, too many cautions but a good finish.

Maybe they were playing with Harvick, so he wouldn't really worry about trying to pass them. After all if they were gonna run out, he'd just ride behind them and go on and take the lead when they ran out.

That thought crossed my mind, and I can't believe Harvick didn't really make much of a push on the final lap - just in case Montoya did have enough gas. The thought had to cross his mind, wouldn't you think?

Thanks. As everyone knows, I like Tony.

So it all came down to gas mileage?

Yeah, pretty much. Robbie Gordon led most of the race but had to pit for fuel late, and he never recovered.

The race played into Montoya's hands, he saved fuel and on a road course (as seen in the past) strategy is key. Ganassi knows how to win road course races.

Terrible post or just an honest opinion ??? I'll go with opinion. I too have my doubts about Juan, but like many others I'm happy to see him prove what everyone is talking about. I still need to see him show his abilities in the roots of NASCAR ... the oval. Not saying he can't do it. Just haven't seen it yet.

Terrible posts get deleted. That post didn't. OPINIONS, OPINIONS, OPINIONS !!

Yes the race did play right in to Montoya's hands. He refueled at athe right time and got the necessary mileage. Possibly Harvick could have beaten him had he raced him instead of waiting for Juan to run out of gas. We'll never really know.

He's still got to prove himself on the oval track. But I think he will do that.

Absolutely agree. However, I think he has ROY locked up. You?

ok, first disregard all of the Montoya band-wagon jumpers PPS .... as most any of the regulars here can tell you, i have cheered for Montoya since before the season started

as for not being here yesterday, i work full-time and i have 6 kids ... i know how life gets in they way as good as anyone so no worries there

as for your post being terrible, no way, it was opinion period and thats never a terrible thing ....... hell if we all had the same opinions this place would be real boring ..... and if you always got all your predictions right you would be too busy getting rich at the dog track to talk to us

Montoya's race was great ........ early on he spun out Kurt Busch but others (like Kenseth) did much worse ........ he spent 90% of the day having a great run heading to the front

You make me laugh! Six kids?! Holy cow! I can barely manage three cats and a dog!

I'm not worried about the Montoya band-wagon-jumpers. Most who berated my post have not offered a rebuttal. They zip in, and zip out. At first I was pi$$ed, but I saw it for what it was, and got over it pretty quick. I really did want to watch the race, but alas, life's experiences can sometimes upset the plan.

The fact that Montoya spun out Busch won't cause me to shed any tears.
And yes, trust me, if my predictions were accurate, I'd be rich! However, I wasn't predicting anything. Just sharing an observation.

LSC was right ... I jumped into the fire. I'll do it again in a heartbeat. I'm a strong soul.

Unless the bottom falls out he is a lock for it.

JP does have to prove at ovals. His stats for ovals this year is 24.2 avg over all, and 23.0 avg with the COT placing him 20 out of 30 drivers that have made all races. And 17 out of 31 drivers that have made all COT races. Just average so far.
