It's good in tryin to keep a separate identity for the BUSCH series... however the cup raiders are still runnin alot in it so the separate identity is not much there.

Re: Cup and Busch Series running on different tracks

as long as Busch is the "lite" series for Cup, don't expect it to change.

personally, I'd like to see each series have it's own schedule such that it'd be difficult for a driver in one series to race in another except when off weeks allow. in other words, get back to the "farm system" it was originally intended to be.

RD I agree with that 100%.... only thing is.... I'm not totally sure it could survive on it's own like the old days.

CTS runs different tracks .. sometimes the only show that weekend. They're surviving.

If Busch would do the same thing rather than being the "opening act" for Cup, they might find they have a following also.

Imagine a weekend where CTS opens for the headliner, Busch!!! Or Busch opens for IRL (like CTS does occasionally.) There's more opportunity out there if you look for it with an open mind...

The reason I find the CTS to be surviving is it is as about as close as you can get to old school NASCAR. You can beat the hell out of those trucks and still contend for the win. They lay it all on the line. I actually enjoy the CTS over Cup. Could Busch gain it's own identity? It's possible, and I hope id does.... but I fear it has gone to far for it to regain it's identity and survive.

IMSVHO, These races should be as GEOGRAPHICALY as far apart as possible. That might keep some of the 'Cup' drivers out of it and make it the 'Feeder' series that myself and some others think it should be.

as long as they don't go to anything that even faintly resembles a COT, there's hope.

Back when it was BGN and a developmental series for Cup hopefuls and it kept the Cup Raiders to a minimum I thought that it was a good idea.

Now, BGN has become Cup Lite, and is simply a playground for the Cup Raiders, and a series where the high-rolling Cup owners can try out new drivers and crew members. NASCAR has parlayed this into more income for themselves because there is a sizable number of "fans" pout there who think you can't have a race unless there is a Cup driver participating. In that respect it's a stinko idea because it prevents probably as many as twenty Cup Raiders to race in the lower series and take money the smaller teams desperately need to stay afloat.

Those are my personal thoughts on the matter.

Re: Cup and Busch Series running on different tracks

I love it when they race at different tracks. Still have a few cup drivers, but at least half (or more) of the field ain't cup drivers. I wish they would run the trucks and busch at one track and cup at another one.
I hope that when they start running the COT full time, that cuts down on some of the cup drivers in busch. I know Jeff Burton said when they do that he won't run in busch to much, cause he'll have no reason to.
And I agree, I love watching the trucks alot more than I do cup.

Re: Cup and Busch Series running on different tracks

Some of the short tracks Busch used to run on are awesome, like Myrtle Beach or IRP. Do they still run on these tracks? I haven't seen them on these in a while.

Re: Cup and Busch Series running on different tracks

it would be nice if they didn't always run on the same track but they wouldn't as many fans for the busch if they didn't run along cup events
