Garfield on the oil crisis

Garfield on the oil crisis

A lot of folks can't understand how we came

to have an oil shortage here in our country.

~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~

Nobody bothered to check the oil.

~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~

The reason for that is purely geographical.

~~~
Our OIL is located in
~~~

ALASKA

~~~
California
~~~

Coastal Florida

~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~

Kansas

~~~
Oklahoma
~~~

Pennsylvania

and

Texas

~~~
Our
DIPSTICKS
are located in
Washington, DC !!!
Any Questions ???
NO? I didn't Think So.
GREAT! It sounds like something I'd get from my favourite political cartoon, Mallard Filmore, but Garfield works for me, also.
I'm going to steal this one and use it to rain on the parades of some tree-hugging, green pinko's I know. Thanks.
Easy Bob, you're painting a picture of yourself here that I just cannot fathom.
Naw. I don't think so. Rush is a little too liberal for my tastes.
I think most get more conservative as they get older.
I see you guys get off topic as easy as they do in the football threads. I try to stay on topic but Simon and Goth give very poor examples!
Someone once told me:
"If you aren't a Democrat (read: liberal) by the time you're 35, you have no heart...
If you aren't a Republican (read: conservative) by the time you are 45, you have no brain..."
The older I get the more sense that makes, but I'm still no convinced.
IRT statement#2...
All NASCAR and no play makes Jack and Jill a dull boy.
Maybe it depends on how you define liberal. As I grow older, I know what my standards and values are, but I am more inclined to be tolerant of other people's choices. Does that make me more liberal?
As for getting older, some of the things I did and believed when I was younger scare me. I wouldnt do, say, or believe them now. Does that make me more conservative.
If you are thinking about political affiliations, then it seems Democrats generally stay Democrats all their life, and the same for Republicans. But are they loyal to the party beliefs, or loyal to the party?
