Fantasy NASCAR (would you trade...)

In the proposed deal I would send ...

-Earnhardt Jr.
-Kahne

in return I would receive

-Jimmie Johnson
-Reed Sorensen

(the scoring system is strictly Nextel points earned from here on out)

would you do this?

thanks for any responses

Hmm... that's a toughie. Not sure the advantage Jimmie has over Junior is worth what you'd give up in Kahne over Sorensen. I don't think I'd do it.

Re: Fantasy NASCAR (would you trade...)

Kahne has potential because he is a proven commodity. Sorenson is an up and coming. Right now Jr is trying hard but does not have the right equipment (so everyone says). JJ is good and has the current backing to prove it.

I'd go with the trade ... famous last words.

No contest, Ellison. In the Kahne/Earnhardt duo you have a driver who is a lame duck on a team where family dynamics have played havoc with his performance in the past, and a driver on ateam who, along with his two team mates have struggles since the flag dropped at Daytona.

On the other hand (Johnson/Sorenson) you you have a driver solidly in second place in standings who drives for one of NASCAR premier owners <choke!> and a driver who has had no mechanical problems to speak of this season, just some questionable luck.

I'd drop the Junior/Kasey ticket quicker than Simon Cowl'd drop a tap dancing comic from the American Idol auditions!

Re: Fantasy NASCAR (would you trade...)

change in offer ...

Earnhardt Jr (1691)
Kahne (1297)

for

J. Johnson (2055)
T. Raines (1319)

----------------------------------------------------------------
should i still do it even though i wouldn't get sorensen (1338pts) .... does it matter that much? ..... should i hold out for sorensen or just take raines?

remember, i would only get points from here on out, not anything they've earned already.

thanks

I'd still make the trade. Tony has been a consistent 20th-28th driver this season, with the potential of top 15's. Until Everham figures out this new car/tire combination set up, I'd stay away from any Everham team like Hillary Clinton stays away from Bill.

IF the trade covers the Sears Point race, I'd jump on that one like a fly on a cow flop. Kurt tends to run fast and has some decent finishes on road courses. (He came in 5th last year at this race) Take it before it gets away!

no doubt .. despite his emotional problems his finishes have been consistently high .. much higher than Bobby's.

Re: Fantasy NASCAR (would you trade...)

thanks for the responses,

i actually had the same views on these trades ... but being new to the sport i wasn't positive if i should roll the dice here.

ill see now if the offers still stand and hope for the best.

... yes i take fantasy nascar (and fantasy football) a little too seriously.

Re: Fantasy NASCAR (would you trade...)

wow, I actually wound up with none of these deals ... the Jimmie Johnson guy backed out at the last minute and the other deal with Kurt Busch and Bobby Labonte is at a standoff.

the guy wants Kasey Kahne and Bobby Labonte from me ...

for

Kurt Busch and Juan Montoya

i'd have to pull the trigger on a deal today in order to have them for Sonoma but I'm not sure about adding Kahne and Montoya to the deal. Wondering if Kahne will return to last seasons form down the stretch is the issue.

Keep in mind, Kurt now has Pat Tryson as crew chief. That counts for a lot, I believe.
