I bet he does too. But they'll probably just fine him. Seriously, I never knew if you were the only involved you had to call the law.

Yeah a few of the chevy's are build in mexico or canada, but the majority of the parts are made here.

toyota and american made have nothing in common.

you are obviously ill-informed: About Toyota: NA - This section contains all standalone sections of the TMA About site -- Toyota USA -- Manufacturing -- Building Vehicles in the U.S.

no just not dumb enough to fall for their BS. Regardless of what people want to believe the money goes back to Japan, not the US economy.

If they're paying people in the U.S. to build cars, then at least some of the money has to go back into the American economy. That's just common sense.

you're probably right .. except for the salaries for 21,000 US folks they employ, the utilities, taxes, etc. they pay on the plants, and, of course, the $20 BILLION they pay US sources for parts and materials, all of it goes to Japan...

Re: Mikeys racin at Dover!

wow 21000 employees. I wonder how many employees GM has in the US? Better yet, how much do they pay out each year in pensions?

The amount of employees for GM, is rapidly dropping due to plant closures and employee buyouts. Big pensions and $100k-per-year floor sweepers are a large reason they are in the tank. All this while Toyota does nothing but add (American) employees.

The same thing is happening at Ford, and Chrysler is for sale.

Re: Mikeys racin at Dover!

Those stats are doing nothing more than comparing companies that have been here for generations against a company that is relatively new here and speculating what will happen by 2010. No one ever said Toyota had more employees in the US than the Big Three. I simply stated that the US manufacturers are having plant closures, lay-offs and buyouts, whereas Toyota is not.
