| Favorite racing term All during the race and the entire weekend we hear many interviews with drivers, owners, team members and many others associated in some way with racing. During all those interviews they are all some racing term they use. What is your favorite ... or least favorite ??? |

| Re: Favorite racing term Let's see, my favorite is "tail end of the longest line". I can just see the driver's forlorn faces as they drop in at the very end for whatever infraction has occured. It sounds very lonely. I like it simply because it's kind of poetic, don't ya think? Yeah, well, maybe not, but I still think it's pretty descriptive if you have a warped imagination like I do. My least favorite? Very easy. "Boogity, boogity, boogity boys, tighten up those belts and let's go racin!" I used to think it was pretty funny, but now it's so old and over done that I want to tighten up that gag I can envision across his yapola. |

Least favourite(s): (3) Any word that starts with "aero-" (2) "Boogity, Boogity, Boogity! Let's go Racin', boys!" (May the fleas of 1000 camels...) And the one phrase which makes my teeth itch and my hair hurt: (1) "Back in the day..."

| Re: Favorite racing term YAPOLA !!! I like that one SC. My least favorite is when Larry Mac say "he took a hard lick" What in the h___ is that supposed to mean ?? I liked a ice cream fudge bar last night, but I couldn't tell if it was a hard lick or not. I too hate boogity and tighten up the belts. A little bit goes a long way. Just another reason why the announcers could be better than what they currently are.

| Re: Favorite racing term A hard lick is a football term meaning a tough tackle. Yet another instance in which stick and ball sports terms find their way into NASCAR. Anyway, my favorite is "get 'im loose and get 'im up into the wall" and in terms of least favorite, the "hitch them belts up..." bothers me infinitely more than "boogity, boogity, boogity" does.

| Re: Favorite racing term Petty Blue it just goes to show how we on this thread have our different opinions, because I love it when they say "blowed up". Not the engine let go, or dropped a rod, or something technical like that. But I do agree with alot of others here about hating the boogity boogity. I do like that fact that we are hearing all the spotters when they start the races now. All that overlapping talking kind of adds to the excitement of the start. |

| Re: Favorite racing term Ok, there is something so very, very wrong with me. "Dropped a rod?" I know what it means, as far as the mechanics of it go, but I have never heard anyone say this. It sounds like something they'd say on one of those "dysfunctional" commercials! I spent too many hours at the track yesterday. All that noise completely rattled my brain. That might have to be my new favorite term! |

| Re: Favorite racing term The one time I got chuckle out of something DW said was his description of a very loose racecar: "Sideways, Slideways and Every otherways" My least favorite, like Bob would be aero push and aero loose. There's also Wing and Splitter, go or go home cars, playoffs, champion's provisional, ratings, Sony HD 500... Boy have times changed.

| Re: Favorite racing term favorite terms: "The Glen", "something in the engine" & "no brakes" (last night in the Busch race Kasey said he had "no brakes", but he blew 'em away anyway - King Richard claims that was the secret to his success .. learned to drive without brakes!) least favorite terms: anything the media picks up that becomes the catch phrase for the year... "Boogity" has outlived it's usefullness by at least 3 years... "aero-..." will go away shortly - the COT is taking care of that!
