| Re: Toyota Struggles Yes we did and I apologize for any part I had in that. Just irked me when they said anyone working for Toyota should be embarrassed to call themselves Americans. Again, I apologize. |

| Re: Toyota Struggles ok I am sorry as well. I will try not to be so negative about Toyota and the new COT. Those have been the only things that have bugged me about Nascar, and I am making more of a statement about it than is necessary seeing as how it won't make any differece. I quess my biggest issue is that I am proud to be an American, and I think people should support their country. |

But I don't believe supporting my country is equivalent to supporting NA$CAR. Yes, NA$CAR is American, but I don't see where they are shy about taking foreign money. They have already raced in other countries and have plans to make such events a regular part of the schedule, possibly even having "divisions" in different geographic areas... I watch the races on a Sony TV .. because Consumer Reports says my particular model has the highest marks. The American branded TV's are junk. I believe I deserve the best. Sony is happy to support the US and make a few dollars off me and I'm happy to purchase the best. In fact, I generally support all NA$CAR sponsors. However, when a sponsor has inferior products, I don't support them. Why should I? I deserve the best. But being best does not automatically earn my endorsement either. Though Citgo is a NA$CAR sponsor, I will not knowingly use Citgo products nor patronize their establishments because their "owner" is an America-hater. That's what's so great about America. You can choose to use superior products from other countries or inferior ones made at home. Don't get me wrong, I don't think American products are necessarily inferior .. but some are - the Japanese happen to make some of the best cameras and cars - but I don't like their beer... It's your choice. You are free to choose. That foreign interests choose to come to the US and participate in our activities is what helped make this country strong. I applaud Toyota for building plants is the US and contributing to the economy and for venturing into an American institution called NA$CAR. Their competition will help to improve the sport. I wish them well (but I'll still root for the Chevy's.) Remember, you can only improve if you constantly test yourself against the best. That's what Toyota is doing.
