CHEERS !!
No reason to apologize. If you hate em you hate em. There are a few drivers that I might hate, but I don't apologize for it.

Re: Poor Dave Despain

I never really disliked Mikey until the last couple of years. Once he got some fame and noteriety from winning a couple of plate races with DEI, he became nothing more than a know-it-all blabbermouth. Last year while driving for Bill Davis in a DODGE, all he did was talk about how great Toyota is. I find him just plain annoying to listen to with all his sponsor-spewing, sucking-up verbal diarrhea. If he could drive anywhere near the same level he can spit out sponsors, he'd have a couple of Cups by now.

I say Keep Despain, get Buddy Baker, Dick Bergeren and Carl Edwards, eve though Carl would be a little out of place in terms of age. Or wouldn't it be something to have Matt Mclaughlin on the show?
Dump the entire "Inside NASCAR" program. The race has already been recaped by SPEED at least three times, plus whatever post race coverage the networks have given it.

Bring back Pit Bull. Have Dave moderate a panel of serious racing journalists and writers. Keep the drivers off and put on a panel of people who will get objectives views on the sport. On ocassion the drivers offer something of substance but it happens rarely.

PLease understand ... I'm not, I REPEAT NOT apologizing for not liking them. I was just expressing to all of those that do like them, my apologies for saying that you all should dislike them. The brothers just don't cut it for me at all.

My sentiments exactly, or at least as close as we'll get here.

Even better. I didn't think of all the other shows there are that recap the weekend. Victory Lane, Speed Report, even NASCAR Now if you're desperate (but that show is just awful, who is Eric Kusileas and does he even know what NASCAR is?).

Everybody that had SPEED watched Pit Bull until NASCAR discovered that there were people that had opinions talking bad about them. They would never stand for it.

Pit Bull and Wind Tunnel were the ONLY SPEED commentary shows worth turning on the TV for. Pit Bull was a more-improved televised version of Radio's PRN's Pit Reporters.

David Poole has said that after about the 3rd or 4th show he got a personal call from Brian France and was asked if he didn't think some of him on-camera comments were a bit too "negative" about NASCAR. David says that he replied that he would continue to call things as he saw them. Shortly after that call (after about ten episodes of Pit Bull, I recall) the show was pulled for "Lack of ratings?"

It amazes me that NASCAR allows its SPEED affiliate to allow Dave to continue to allow Robin Miller to continue to be a guest on Wind Tunnel and let him make some of the statements about NASCAR that he does.

I don't doubt the Robin's gotten the same call David got. He's been fired (from what?) multiple times and he doesn't seem to be so blunt on his feelings. That still isn;t saying much though.

I honestly believe that Robin and Matt McLaughlin are in some sort of demented race to see which one can have the longest list of formers employers which it all ends. <g>

Personally, I find it refreshing to hear and see people speak what is on their mind, and damn the torpedoes. (<note to self:> You have to find the knack of doing that, Bob.)
