| Re: Martinsville Race I don't know about anyone else but I would have loved to have seen Dale Jr. win just to see that car crossing the finish line first !! That would have had been great... everyone would have a smile regardless of who they wanted to win. Alot of teams would be shaking their heads and the media would have a field day with it. Heck, ya' gotta let the little guy win once in a while......... |

| Re: Martinsville Race TN Gal, I think he would have had a very good chance if Newman hadn't run him into the wall. He started so deep in the field which made his run that much more amazing. That team has to be really pumped up. Hopefully, that is a sign of things to come. |

| Re: Martinsville Race Some of the above comments are indeed valid and come from good racing fans...some of it is just plaing myopic garbage..."you make the call." None of the above have mentions one of the best and most competent drivers coming in second...Mark Martin is quietly moving in the forward direction adn doing one heck of a great job. Albiet Ford Chevy, 'other guys', Mark did a suprub job and advanced to a pretty important position in the points race. This indeed may be Mark's last year (we all thought last year was...) in the Cup, but you just can't find a more gracious driver in the history of NASCAR. Any man that wind a million dollars in one race and pledges to share with the entire crew can't be all bad. Anyone remember a race a ton of years ago at a Californication race trace that Mark was forced off the trace, spun into a reaining wall head on, jumped out of his car and obviously hopped and jumped around with visual indication that his "five point" seat belt has cinched too tight at the 'private parts? The TV camera was cachting all of the 'action' and when he realized it, he hobbled out of camera range until he could get is voist from contralto to the normal bass/tenor....must have hurt a ton, but gracious was the call of the day. Jr. did great, promising that this year will be and turn-around and successful, ...the 'smoke' is back and grateful that the 'plactic boy' blew it on the restart at lap 3/4 to go...some have faulted the flag as the reason Gordo did not win...flag on no flag, Godo-baby blew the restart...and some have mentioned that the speedy dry may have been the problem...could have been, but it is curisous that only he got into the phantom speedy dry.....let's be real, people...the race was fair, well raced by all and it was won by the best of the show for that day....next week, another may prevail...but as of today...Home Depot is happy, and so am I with Mark, Jr and "other than Hendrick" crew... Anyone know how Hendrick got into racing and the car business? THAT is a great story including church, guts and plain hard work the old fashions way...Rick is indeed a true United States success story !! |

| Re: Martinsville Race Ref the concern that Mark did a lost race year etc...It is my understanding that he did, indeed, plan a last year of racing in the '05 year, however, 'the boos' indicated that he would like Mark to do another year (first wanted a few more races; growing into another few races; into why, hell, Mark let's just do it again.) I think, while I do not know the particulars, that Mark fully intended to make '05 his last year, was finally coerced to do more in the CUP. He had already committed to the truck and Busch things....You might be right feeling that Mark deluded the public, but I really feel that is not is gig and not his schtick and not his 'way'...I really am convinced that he did not plan to re-turn in '06...Mark is really true to his word...that's his schtick. But, like anyone else, I could be wrong.... damn, I like interacting with you guys/gals...! |

I was not "trashing Ricky". I simply provided links showing his business tactics have been known to be shady after what Wampinrock said. Oh, and I don't hate HMS........just don't care for 3 of their 4 drivers. |

Wampinrock was initially talking about Rick Hendrick owner of HMS......NOT his son RICKY who died in the plane crash, which was a horrible thing. |
