JR. To Drive Desert Camo Car For Troops

Budweiser Desert Camo Car To Honor Troops This Weekend:

You may need to look a little closer to find the #8 Budweiser machine during the Coca-Cola 600 at Lowe's Motor Speedway this Sunday. The iconic red paint scheme is being replaced this Memorial Day weekend with a special desert camouflage look, honoring our troops around the globe. Budweiser will donate proceeds from the sale of the collectible diecast camo cars to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), which provides full-ride college scholarships to surviving dependents of Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps special operations personnel killed in combat or training missions, and immediate financial assistance to special operations personnel severely wounded in the global war on terror. More than 700 dependents currently benefit from the efforts of the SOWF. For more information, visit www.specialops.org. The Budweiser team will also carry a special red, white and blue paint scheme during the July 4 weekend at Daytona International Speedway. Budweiser will also donate proceeds from the sales of collectible merchandise of that car to SOWF.

See the car here:

My wife and I belong to Soldier's Angels. She is the Alabama VA Team Leader and a Community Team Leader. If you have any questions let me know and I will send you her email address. Just PM me. We are leaving in the morning for TN for a family reunion but will be back on Sunday. She can answer any questions you may have.

Re: JR. To Drive Desert Camo Car For Troops

I think the camo cars are a great way to recognize the troops for all they've done for us. It's definitely a great move by Budweiser and I can't wait to see how much those cars go for....

I think it's great that they are doing this. And actually they don't cost as much as I figured they would.

Oh! I thought you were talking about the full sized car, not the die casts. My mistake.

Tuck - I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to you and your wife and all the Soldier's Angels. I'm the proud mom of an Air Force veteran. She is home safe and sound now, her tour cut short by injuries. She has recovered physically, the rest will take time. I avoid watching the news because every few months there is a name we both recognize on the casualty list. She lost her fiance, a very special young man serving in the Marines. We all have such a huge stake in this, whether we have a loved one serving or not. When I read of organizations such as Soldier's Angels, my hope for the future is renewed and I remember that there are some very good people in the world. Regardless of political views, we must all support the men and women making the ultimate sacrifice. Again, thank you.

Re: JR. To Drive Desert Camo Car For Troops

I love seeing things like this being done. I am glad that people are smarter about how they treat soldiers than they were back in the 60's and 70's with vietnam.
