I’ve heard people suggest Dale Jr. timed his announcement to coincide with Mother’s Day, so he could embarrass his stepmother and DEI team owner Teresa Earnhardt. Anybody buying this?

Are you kidding me? Some people have too much time on their hands to come up with such idle speculation. How would Dale Jr. profit from being that spiteful? It would just bite him in the arse eventually.

I agree with that also. My take is that negotiations finally got to the point where there was no more give and take. He needs to get on with his career and the longer he waits the less bargaining he can can do.

She is his step mother by law. I'm sure he doesn't call her Mom.

I like that! That's one to pass along to my daughter's for sure. If they ever speak to me again, that is. The whole family went to dinner for Mother's Day, my mom, my step mom, my dad, my sister, 2 of my 3 kids - yup, everybody but me. Where was I? At the track, of course. It was opening day at Oswego Speedway, and well, it was MY day and that's where I wanted to be! My son still loves me, though. He and Dad were on my side and went with me. My girl's will get over it as soon as they need money. So, yes indeed, Happy Mother's Day to all us mothers! And thanks for everybody else's happy wishes, too! Vrrroooom, vrrroooooom, baby!
