Re: Martin says Trucks are better? Martin has for several years demonstrated a class of driver rarely experience in the NASCAR venue...he would rather pull over than cause a wreck...Mark is one of the most accomplished and respected drivers in recent history...Nothing would please me more that see him in the winners circle 3-7 time this year... As to the trucks...while I was an avid fan since they tested the pickups during Winter Heat in Phoenix back in '93 and '94, I have since quit watching...only because I can't take the Janapese entries...to my mind, Toyota (and German based Dodge) have no business in the USA born and bred racing circuit...but that is my Waterloo. I recognize that many do not feel this way. I also realize that I have a serious situation coming up next year when the Toyotas are allow into the Cup circuit...don't quite know how I am a-gonna react to that. You see, regardless of where they are made, the off-shore vehicle profits go to either Tokoyo or Bonn...hurts the US economy and is not justifiable by saying "but it keeps our people working"...that is just not a good excuse in my book. But again, that is my Waterloo....

Re: Martin says Trucks are better? Every time I see that Mark Martin's going to be in a truck race I lose interest in watching the race. Same thing that's happening in the Busch series, Roush money vs. smaller truck teams. Not that I don't like Mark, I just like to see series regulars win.

Re: Martin says Trucks are better? I tend to agree with you Wampinrock. I'd like to see american cars in the great American racing series. The odd thing is that the Camry will look nothing like a Camry except for the headlight decals they add to the car. Not that Chevy or Ford are the same car as the production model either. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see another league start up in the future. The current track owners would be more than happy to see their tracks get used more often. If they got enough drivers to defect the money from sponsors would also. I'd just like to see them get back to real racing. Today it just isn't what it was 25 years ago.

Re: Martin says Trucks are better? You know with Mark, yeah his real nice and all and he is very curtious to the other drivers but pulling over and leting guys by cause their faster has really hurt hes chances for championships and WINS. Maybe thats why his finished 2nd alot, get a little aggressive and maybe Martin fans will get whats theyve diserve for sooo long.

If he's faster on the track he'll go around cars... he hasn't ever been one to move people out of the way... respect is earned not given... those that he races with respect him the most because of this... and that elusive championship he hasn't won doesn't make him second best to anyone... there's not a cooler head on the track than Mark Martin... look at last weeks Bristol race for example... he was one of a handful that came to the checkers without any confrontation all day... sure he finished sixth... but he finished with his dignity and car intact...
