As a die hard Senior fan I wouldn't like anything better than to see Jr drive the BLACK NUMBER 3.

I bet SENIOR IS ROLLING OVER IN HIS GRAVE ABOUT NOW!!!!

Keep in mind that Jr is doing the same thing Daddy did. Drive for one team and own another. If it was good enough for dear ole Dad then it should be OK for Jr

Hendrick is out .. for now. He's maxed on teams, so he'd have to break one of the driver's contracts (read that Mears) in order to get Jr. and I don't think Mears will let him off cheaply...

And I wish Sr. fans would let Sr. die .. they seem hell-bent on keeping him alive thru his son. Yes, it'd be neat for Jr. to drive the black 3 for a couple races (read that: A COUPLE RACES) .. kind of like a kid wearing his dad's boots. But Jr. needs to (and I think, wants to) get out of Sr.'s shadow and be know as a man and a driver in his own right. He'll always be Sr.'s son, but, for gosh sakes, let him be known for something other than that.

I've been supremely impressed with Jr. maturing in the past year or two. He's one of the few drivers out there that accepts responsibility for his on-track and off-track actions and, as he stated in his press conference yesterday, he makes his own decisions - very refreshing.

Just so you know, Jr has a great relationship with Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon, so I doubt he would agree with your opinion. But, we will never know until it's official. In my opinion, I think Jr will go to either HMS or RCR. Maybe Gibbs, he has a good relationship with Tony as well, so that's a possibility.

I agree with you racer duck about Jr getting out of Sr. shadow. He is making a move to be his own man. People just need to let the 3 car GO. I wonder if he might buy the 8 from DEI?

Mike, Mike.... my dillusional Mike... they get along because they are not directly associated... it's a whole different race when your on the same team havin to compete for the limelight. And you know Jr will not settle for experimental equipment like Vickers and now Mears run.

First off, Mears has the same equipment that Gordon, Johnson, and Busch have. I really doubt Hendrick would treat one of his drivers as a experimental driver. He has just had some bad luck this year. The main problem with Mears is he doesn't like the setups, so they have to find something that he likes, which is another reason why he isn't running well. On the other hand, Jr likes setups similar to Hendricks, so I think he would fit well. I'm not saying he wouldn't win at RCR, but I think he has a better shot at HMS. I've heard he's talked to HMS officials, and he's going to talk to RCR soon. Either way, wherever Jr goes, RCR, HMS, or Gibbs, he will win.

Yeah.. ok... then I'm the easter bunny. That car has always been the experimental equipment.... Let me take you back to the fall Dega race just for the quick example.... you remember when Vickers won with the experimental equipment... and the announcers said if the car did well then all the Hendrick cars would run that particular setup in 07 at the restrictor tracks. I should describe this a little clearer. He has the same equipment, but the setups Hendrick has doesn't suit him. Of course HMS is going to experiment at times, does any other team not experiment and use the the same stuff all the time? I doubt that. Jr is too talented to perform like Mears and Vickers did in the 25. Alot of the Hendrick setups would suit Jr, so I doubt he will run horrible with the 25 if he does go to HMS. Now if Mears is running any experimental equipment, do you think Hendrick will keep that same experimental equipment in the 25 if Jr is in the car? I doubt that. Jr expects to win, and Hendrick will give him that. Mears is expected to learn this year, and start winning next year. But with Jr on the market, Mears better be worried.

I wouldn't forget Bobby Ginn is probably the richest and most dedicated car owner in NASCAR at present.

Junior wants a car in which he can contend for the Championship NEXT SEASON. As evidenced by Mark Martin this year, Ginn Racing can deliver on that desire. Plus, he'll pay whatever Junior and the Eury's want (has anyone heard when Tony Jr.'s contract is up at DEI?)

Hendrick... They already have enough bonafide stars and Junior would be overkill. Plus, Ginn uses RHR chassis and engines and apparently he's getting the best of what Rick has to offer.

Gibbs... I doubt it. Gibbs is a devout Christan and I don't see him taking on a sponsor which is solely alcohol-based. Petty is of this mind and I don't believe The Coach and J.D. are far behind.

Childress is probably the best fit and would probably be Junior's sentimental choice. However, if it gets into a strictly bidding and opportunity for a championship war, can Richard keep pace with Ginn?

Time will tell, but until it become final, there is no other story of substance in NASCAR and it's going to get pretty boring.

Ginn is a dark horse for sure. But a rich dark horse. And he has good stuff and good people and he isn't afraid to spend money for what he wants. If he decides he wants Jr. and if Jr. puts him on the short list, look out!!!

It can not be helped, JR is SR son. The thread(s) quoting to keep Dale Sr alive through is son? No sir I think we all are adults and are mature enough to know that SR is gone and there will never be another SR. Yes I was a DALE SENIOR FAN but JR is JR and just himself. Myself don't need to see JR driving the BLACK 3 CAR fantasizing of yesteryear and SR. The will never be equal when it comes to wins, driving and personailty.

Seeing just the Black 3 racing again would be cool (I DON'T CARE WHO DRIVES) and if JR drove it would be JUST COOL!
