| Wet weather racing... Ok... its 7:55pm at Richmond... its light rain... why cant they run wet weather tires like formula ONE...? Now wont that really put tires into the equation as opposed to excluding them with a single manufacturer and design...? Those guys want to race.... |

Wipers and fogged-up windows are curable. However, what I think might be the biggest obstacle to racing full bodied stock cars in the rain may be their mass. I don't know if they could get enough down force on the cars to hold them on the track in a turn when they are at speed. From a layman's point of view, it would appear that the laws of inertia would take over and ruin someone's day. I know that they qualified for one of the Japanese exhibition races back in the 90's and the drivers involved complained quite a bit. I don't remember any of the particulars, however. As for me, I feel NASCAR Cup racing is like baseball, it belongs in warm weather, in dry weather, and needs to be played during daylight hours only. (Even though I quit following stick&ball years ago, the beliefs of a die-hard, long suffering Cub fan are hard to break. <g>)

| Re: Wet weather racing... Well they were official bonus points, but since the race was canceled, and of course didn't get passed the 200 lap mark, Jeff won't get awarded with those bonus points. |

| Re: Wet weather racing... They stated on TV last night that since they are going with a complete restart today, there were no official laps last night .. so no points. re: wet weather tires. F1 cars are about 1/3 the weight of Cup cars .. Goodyear (the ONLY tire supplier) hasn't been motivated to spend the R&D time & $$$ to find a solution. Now, if there were tire competition in Cup like in F1, that'd all change...

| Re: Wet weather racing... Stock Cars addition to a wet track is not a good mix even with the tires, with the wide load it brings crashes and more cautions that will get annoying to even the biggest fans, but the idea of only having day races i dont like. The night races i always thought they were the best, I wish they can do some sunday night races... Now that would be nice for a change.

| Re: Wet weather racing... I understand the whole not going on and giving him the points from Sat. night since they never ran a straight green flag lap.I kinda understand them starting completely over. What I don't understand is the making them run the 10 laps Sat. and then pace laps Sun. and then saying that if a caution came out before the competition caution did on lap 40, that they could get tires and do adjustments but couldn't get fuel until after lap 40. Does anybody know why they did that? |

| Re: Wet weather racing... only way they could run in wet would be on a road course. Ovals and water dont mix, there would be a constant stream of water from the bankin itself which would result it aqaua plaining, also the fact i think the teams would prefer not to have the cost of fixing the cars after!! |
