Now I know why they never used to race on Mother's Day.

Dunno, but I'll bet if she was, she would have had the respect to take her hat off during the playing of the national anthem.

You know, its is a real grey area regarding Delana and her hat.

According to the hat etiquette, women are generally not required to remove their hats where men are, indoors, during the national anthem, etc. This has been established because traditionally women's hats tend to be pinned or clipped in place and it would be difficult and disastrous to the hair style. Yeah, old rules of etiquette, but they still hold true today.

HOWEVER... it is also written that when a women is wearing a man's style of hat, it is considered good manners to remove it in similar situations where a man does.

So she could be considering herself exempt because of the old rule. And who knows? Maybe she does have it pinned in place. Can't be seen on National TV with hat hair, after all.

I'm not saying she's right or wrong in this... I'm just sayin'.

You aren't the only one losing interest BBW. I doubt I watched 1/4 of the race. Most fans do not like to see the same people win over and over at anything. Just when you think someone else, in this case Newman or Hamlin, may have a shot to win.............one of the Hendrick cars pops up at the end. It seems to be their year as far as having the speed and luck. Speaking of luck, I don't think I've ever seen a car go so many laps with steam coming out of the overflow, without blowing up as the 24 did today. Its unbelievable how he drove away from the field on those last restarts with an overheating engine. Usually overheating equals power loss.

You gotta be there at the end. HMS doesn't make mistakes. They know you don't need to be there early in the race, but you need to be there late in the race, and HMS does that best. I really doubt it's luck, it's just talent. And HMS showed their depth in the shop. It is unreal how that engine held up. Then again, HMS has the resources to build the best engines in NASCAR, and they proved that today.

I do understand some of the frustration. When HMS is just dominating this year, it can be frustrating for the fan who watches NASCAR, but aren't really a fan of a particular driver. But, for us HMS fans, this is an AWESOME year!

Yup it is a very grey area. We have discussed this subject off and on and still haven't gotten Delana's attention !!!!

My point in this subject is and always has been about respect for the flag and what it stands for. This isn't the thread to get into this subject but if by chance it does resurface I'll be more than delighted to add my 55 cents worth.

I still think that is what makes the race interesting for me. I have no favorite so I feel I can appreciate anyones victory. I will agree that it gets old seeing the same ones win but it really does say a lot for the program that they have.

You're trying to tell me running lap after lap with a water-spewing, overheating car and going on to win is not luck?
And its not just talent...........its "I have more $$$$$$ than you".

I'm not saying it was Gordon. The credit goes to the shop for building incredible engines. HMS has the resources to build those incredible engines. But Steve Letarte made the right adjustments, and Jeff drove it up there. All around, it was a great victory, which any HMS victory is great!
