Oh man! We gotta get a whole new GTG catagory for this stuff! When it comes to old TV trivia, I am KING! (I seem to remember typing these same words before) Why did Chester limp? 'Wooden leg' is not the answer. Why did he have a wooden leg?

I know this is waaaaaay off topic but what the hey; care to venture a guess as to Cosmo Topper's wife's first name? <G> She was never on camera, but he always talked to her off-camera, in every episode.

Re: Help with Jeff Gordon stat's

NASCAR Penalizes Gordon 10 Points

NASCAR's weak and senseless postponement of last nights race at Richmond stripped the current points leader of points earned for leading a lap, and to the point in the race to which the race had progressed, leading the most laps.

Conspiracy theorists cite this as another in a never ending example of how the organization uses their power of rule to block the 4 time champions' attempt to attain his 5th title. Said one fan clearly upset with the decision - "There was no need to make that call at such an early hour. They could have waited longer".

Sometime during last evening, the NASCAR hauler was pelted repeatedly with Pepsi cans and wrapped in Tyvek. Investigations into the source of these indignations are ongoing.

Re: Help with Jeff Gordon stat's

Just some ramblings from an old fan of racing. Any facts/stats I state come from Racing Reference

JG is a money driver: evidence can be seen in the "total winnings" column for any season. Whenever there was BIG money on the line, JG found a way to be there, or almost there. Back in the days when they paid a bonus to the leader at half-way, JG seemed to get the check more than any other driver. His $10M earnings for 2001 is the largest I found among active drivers except for JJ in 2006 ($15M) and Stewart in 2005 ($13M).

JG hasn't had a winless season since his 1st Cup win in 1994, his 3rd season in Cup. And he's the only current driver I found that had 2 or more seasons with double digit wins (10, 10, 13 in '96, '97 & '98 respectively) Elliott was the only other (current) driver I found who had a season in the double digits - 11 in '85 - not Sr. or Stewart or <insert your favorite here>. Rusty W (not a current driver) had 10 in 1993. Darrell W. (also not a current driver) had 12 each in '81 & '82.

Say what you will about JG, I cannot figure out how NA$CAR manipulated over 400 races so that he came out on top of the heap so many times and no one can show any evidence that it was done to help JG.

Now if you want to talk conspiricy, take a look at the 1971 season. Richard Petty (The King) won 21 races!!! And Bobby Allison won 11 races!!! There were 48 races that year, which means only 16 races were won by all the rest of the competition!!! Wonder how NA$CAR pulled that off????

I agree completely. Jeff Gordon has won all of his races legit, not because NASCAR helped him. It's not NASCAR's fault that Jeff Gordon is a winner, and some of their fans try to exploit the fact NASCAR helps him, yet you have no evidence to backup your claims. This is not a opinion now, this is a fact. Jeff Gordon is the best driver to ever come into racing since Earnhardt, and quite possibly the best driver in history of NASCAR. When it's money time, Gordon is there. How does NASCAR manipulate that? They can't. Jeff Gordon is a winner, and it's about time some fans just accept that fact. But you haters keep booing him, it just gives him more motivation to go out and win races and run well, and make you boo him some more!

Thanks for looking up those stats, RD.
