The fans were charged with disorderly conduct Sunday and posted bond at the track's jail facilities, Talladega County Sheriff Jerry Studdard said. Track officials can't prevent the 14 fans from buying tickets through a third party. A number of fans began throwing beer cans after Gordon won the race under caution, passing the late Dale Earnhardt -- a Talladega favorite -- in career wins. Talladega officials had issued warnings before the race that fans caught throwing objects over the fence separating the grandstands from the track would be arrested. A number of fans began throwing beer cans after Gordon won the race under caution, passing the late Dale Earnhardt — a Talladega favorite — in career wins. Talladega officials had issued warnings before the race that fans caught throwing objects over the fence separating the grandstands from the track would be arrested. Superspeedway president Grant Lynch said identifying other fans who threw objects was harder than he had imagined. "At a baseball game where everybody is sitting down, it's easy to see someone stand up and throw an object onto the field," Lynch said. "I was looking at a section that probably had 300 people in it, and they were all standing up, waving their arms and their caps, and I couldn't pinpoint where any of the objects were coming from." Track officials added security following a similar incident after Gordon's victory in 2004, and said they will review Sunday's incident to see if more changes are needed. Fans are allowed to bring small coolers into the track, and also can buy canned beverages at concession stands. FOX Sports - NASCAR - Talladega track bans 14 fans for life |

Smile about it today but you can bet that the fan base that wants the freedom to attend these events will complain along with the drivers that these few are limiting their enjoyment and we'll do whatever it takes to keep those people out. Sorta like getting a pee test. If you're not guilty , you have nothing to fear. Does anyone know what the possible court imposed fines may be for what they did or was this it ? |

| Re: Talladega Fan Fall-Out Okay maybe I read it wrong, but it said they banned them from buying tickets from the track? So does that mean they can still go they just have to buy tickets somewhere else. If thats the case what did they really accomplish? Andif I did read it wrong and it means they can't purchase tickets and go there anymore, all they'll do if they really want to go is purchase them in another name. Or do they check I.D.'s at the gate? As you can probably tell I've never been to a race live and don't care to. |

| Re: Talladega Fan Fall-Out I've always said if I get the chance to go to any track it'll be Bristol or Talladega. And I also would not need a hazmat suit. |

| Re: Talladega Fan Fall-Out I had some hospitality at the june Michigan race in 1999(when Jarrett dominated). I was a guest of Melling Motorsports. Awesome time. They had three coolers that where about 6 foot long. One was dedicated to beer, one had pop and one had ice. As far as the price... have no idea. So that would also be on an I don't know about worth the cost. If you have the money... I would say go for it. It can't be that bad. The day of the cup race they had an open buffett and they cooked your omelete for you. AWESOME!. The day of the IROC I sat on top of their RV and watched Dale Sr and Jr go at it.
