Re: NASCAR Point Standings May 1st

seems kind of surprising how Kenseth caught up so fast with the penalty he got to start the year

I think the answer you're looking for is consistency.

yea its the fact that Kenseth has that annoying consistency that made him to date the "Last Winston Cup Champion" with only one win. Its insane what a person can do just to make the top 5 and not to win a race, but in the end to win a championship.

Re: NASCAR Point Standings May 1st

At least Matt Kenseth is consistently near the front.

I'm just hoping the next few races are a bit better for Clint Bowyer... I'd love to see him make the Chase this year.

And WIN A RACE fer cryin' out loud!!!!

We've had this discussion before with others but I'm curious about your opinion. Do you feel that a championship is an unjust reward for consistency and if so how do you reward consistency ??

Re: NASCAR Point Standings May 1st

I've never thought about that, to tell you the truth no its not, Its the fact you stayed in the garage monday to thursday, qualified as hard as you can on Friday, and Work your way to the front on sunday. To me its actually more just than people think if your more consistent in top 10's and top 5's than in wins, I mean winning is important, but in the end it does'nt end your season if you have only one or two wins. Your up there in the mix consistantly and always optimistic about next week and still fight to win, its the fact that you stay in the hunt every race week in, week out, that what counts to me. And even though I dont like Kenseth, I will always respect his racing, his will to win races and most of all Championships is bigger than any driver I have ever seen, (And yes even my boy Gordon) and he just keeps creeping up the standings every year and keeps being "Mr. Consistent" And knowing the Big Picture, A Nextel Cup Title.

Re: NASCAR Point Standings May 1st

Only surprise I see is David Stremme sitting at 14th. He's had a pretty good year thus far but done so very quietly.

Mark Martin quit full time 1 year to early.17'th after missing two races he should have left Rousch a long time ago.
