ESPN vs FOX Well, I am sure this has been done before but I watched the Busch race on ESPN Saturday and the FOX broadcast on Sunday. There is no comparison in my mind, FOX has them covered in every area. I do like the analysis of McReynolds and DW. Mike Joy is probably the best announcer since Ken Squier. As long as you hit mute as they come to the green so you don't suffer through another Boogity, there is no better coverage at this time. The ESPN is too much BS and not enough announcing of the race in my opinion. Thoughts?

Re: ESPN vs FOX You know, I actually forget what channel I'm watching because it's all the same. Both channels seem to cut away at the worst possible moments. For example, who wants to watch some crew chief from another life point out some who gives a royal crap mechanical thing on a doofy half built car during the last 15 laps of the race!!?! I mean, you can see and hear the cars on the track in the background! Talk about frustrating. And how many times have they come back to racing and the first thing you hear is "and while we were gone, blah blah smacked Driver X into Driver Y who spun into Driver Z" but hey, sorry, we were teaching you all about that stupid little part in that car that nobody gives a hooty patootie about. Now, a tiny positive note, the commentator's on FOX actually shut their yaps once in a while so we can watch the race without that constant chatter. So that's a good thing. Sunday I turned the volume completely off and listened to Hot Pass, or Track Pass or whatever the "pass" is on TW Cable. That was much better. Especially Jimmy Johnson going "holy cow, did I just wreck my teammate?" I'm paraphrasing there. Uh, yupper, sure did.

Re: ESPN vs FOX Haven't there been some races on ABC? And has it been only Busch on ESPN? I can't remember. If memory serves, the ABC coverage of the race was non-existant. It was strictly commercial coverage. Some of the commercials were pretty good, though. Better than this year's Super Bowl.

| Re: ESPN vs FOX Folks... it's been a while since they covered a Nascar... now they have to cover NA$CAR... they have to dumb it down since there are alot of fans that are new to the sport, and it is their (somewhat) fledgling year. They are still gettin a feel for it. Give them a chance. I do admit it is a far better performance than NBC.

Re: ESPN vs FOX Well I am not looking forward to the 'debut' at the Brickyard. The Busch race I watched Saturday had ESPN plastered all over everything and it was brutal. Jerry Punch, like Dick Bergeren is a great pit reporter, but peaked there. I usually tape the race and ff the commercials. Its amazing, it takes half the time to watch without commercials.
