My opinions of Dega

i think this years talladega was great! except for all of the BS! that is bs that gordon couldn't do a burnout because of all of the unsportsmanlike s.o.b.'s were tossing trash on the track! and i hate tony stewart so much but that is major bs that he spun AFTER the wreck and her didn't get his top ten spot! that made me scream that nascar made them do two more laps putting tony a lap down. but other than that it was great!

Re: My opinions of Dega

What happened at the end any way? I thought when the yellow waved under those circumstances the field was frozen. Isn't that the rule? Tony was racing for 3rd when pushed into the outside wall. On the replay the yellow flag was being waved at that time.

Re: My opinions of Dega

If I was a fan, I would have been fuming too. No, I wouldnt have thrown anything, but these people pay BIG money to see a good race. The ending of this one was horrible.

If I correctly recall, the term/definition is that the running order is frozen. Key here is "running", meaning not just "running at the time" but also capable of sustaining "running" (in order) till the end of the "condition on the track", be that the end of a caution, or the end of the race.

While many situations/examples can be given/imagined why this makes sense, there are those few and exceptional (Stewart today) where it can bite ya.

I'm sure that Jayski and NASCAR.com will have more info on the way it ended.

Re: My opinions of Dega

I'm glad Gordon got passing Sr out of the way. I'm also thrilled to know that they were arresting fans that were throwing beer. I know they couldn't get em all, but it will give them something to think about next time.

Congrats to 24. And no, I;m not really a Gordon fan, but the classless actions of a few make me glad he won. You would think they ran in an asylum. Hard to imagine the stands are full of adults. Once again, the big racing story will be drunken morons instead of a great driver passing another great drivers record. Dale Sr would not approve of those actions.

Re: My opinions of Dega

I hope the arrests are a start to stopping it. If they do that on a consistent basis, I think we can at least slow it down.

Man, I sure hope so! Some people don't realize, even tho they're not RACIN', they're still going 70 miles an hour. That's just a little bit fast(to have things thrown at you), I don't care who you are.

Re: My opinions of Dega

I expect nothing less after a Gordon win now, it's a classless act that paints all NASCAR fans with the same brush, what was the lead story on Sportscenter? Not Gordons 77th win on Earnhardts birthday, but the rain of beercans coming down on the 24. I want to bring my daughter to a race, but I refuse to subject her to morons like that who spoil it for everyone.

I'm with you, and that was mentioned on "Wind Tunnel" last night. For some reasonDave Despain thinks that being on private property makes a difference. He didn't condone it at all, but he was thinking that was why they couldn't charge them with it.

That charge has been levied here in Delaware for the overpass deal. I bet that will wake some folks up if one or two was charged with that!
