| scanner Frequencies Does anybody have an up to date 2007 Nextel Scanner frequencie list? Including secondary and backup chanels? I know most teams are running with 3 or more Frequencies. To find this list on line is turning out to be most agrivating. The only lists I can find are either out dated, or only have the primary chanels listed. THanks for any info Bignascarfan(Eric) |

| Re: scanner Frequencies Best of late has been list on Jayski's. Last updated Feb. 2007. I'll be using above at upcoming Dover event (June) and will try to remember to post something here regarding "found and unfound" drivers. I've been of the mindset that feels someone is moving to make traditional scanners obsolete. NEXTEL perhaps so fans will pretty much have to purchase their little yellow handheld if you want to tune in to driver frequencies. |

Believe BIGNASCAR was trying (as have many) to find the on line source that is accurate/up to day. "The Paddock" was one that showed primary and three back up frequencies per team. Was kept up to date by a bunch of fan/contributers. Closed shop unfortunately. "Good" (?) news is that there are not wholesale changes each year and teams/drivers can often be found on/at the same frequency year to year. Not always, but more often than not. Still maintain that eventually the old standard scanner we've all been using for years will be made obsolete by scrambling or unique frequencies change. Reason - charge fans for the necessary device to hear team driver communications. As noted previous, I will try to remember to post found and unfound drivers/frequencies after Dover. |

| Re: scanner Frequencies Yea, I found that, and a few others, but none of them seem to agree. Luckly I have 1000 chanels. I will program in everyone of them and try to sort out who's on what chanel. Thanks for the input. |

With 1000 channels you ought to be able to zero in pretty quick. Likely you already do the following, but in case not - what I do is plug in the "primary" frequency in channel 1 - 100 to correspond to the car #. When scanner stops on a transmit, ya look down and see the car #. Then just lock out the secondary, terciary, etc. I program secondary channel for each car in 101 - 200. Secondary for Kenseth would show as 117. If ya "find" him on his secondary, lock out his others. Fun stuff |

Yup. Good tip. This is usually discovered fairly early on, but most first timers (with a scanner at the track) will experience just how mind numbing trying to listen to all can be. Many will also forget to enable the delay function without which the scanner immediately moves on to the next channel when the transmit (from either the driver or the team) is over. They end up hearing only one side of one after the next transmission. Another worthwhile investment is a stubby antenna if the scanner does not already have one. Physically it is more convenient, but more importantly it can help cut down on cross talk from other frequencies in use at the track. Good stuff. |
