| Re: Speaking of Mikey Yes. How does a driver know from a car that was built in the shop is contained with something illegal? Gordon didn't know his car was too low at Daytona... then again, that happend on the track, so of course he didn't know. But who knows. But my thinking is a driver has no idea what substance or what is done to the car that is built in the shop, unless it is done in the garage area. Then again, the CC may do something to it and not telling the driver. Chad Knaus never told JJ about the infraction with his car at Daytona 06. Who knows though. |

| Re: Speaking of Mikey There is a slight difference in this scenerio. Mike isn't just a driver like JJ or Jeff, he is also the owner. If the owner doesn't know what is going on then he is doing a terrible job of monitoring his workforce. |

| Re: Speaking of Mikey Quote:
I have to agree that I never really noticed Nit until he joined DEI. Perhaps that's why I started following him. Any driver of Dale's is a driver of mine. Perhaps it was the 2001 500 that struck me. The last thing I heard DW say was, "I hope Dale's alright." Mikey was in Victory Lane waiting for Sr. to come, and he never did. Was it the next year that Jr. and Mikey finished 1st and 2nd and they jumped up and down with each other on top of the 8? Perhaps I'm mixing one race with another. I know that's an emotional response. I don't pay much attention to the announcers, but I don't think DW is any worse than others ... but I miss Benny. I don't remember DW as a driver. I was very focused on Sr. back then. Valid or not, bashing is ok. This has nothing to do with this forum, but I think Mikey is on his way out. If he can't qualify, and he can't own, what else is there for him? Too bad he's bringing DJ down with him. Thanks for the info. ![]() |

| Re: Speaking of Mikey Quote: Look at it this way. Why do you seethe whenever Jeff Gordon is mentioned? It's all the same thing. For whatever reason, you cannot stand him and LSC cannot stand Dim and Nit. The reasons may not even be tangible. I'm one of those people who don't understand the absolute and total dislike anyone has for any driver, any more than I understand having a favorite driver who can do no wrong no matter what. It's a sport, they're just driver's, and while I may like or dislike some more than others, my energy goes towards the racing itself. I noticed there's an awful lot of people on here who really carry the "hate" thing to an extreme. I don't know, maybe I'm just too "vanilla" about stuff that's so subjective. Stewart has made such bonehead remarks that I find myself getting pretty irritated by him, so maybe there's hope for me yet. And if the truth be known, before all this crap happened with Mikey, he actually made me chuckle from time to time. But he's not funny now, he's just kind of pathetic. Well, no matter what else, this all makes for some pretty interesting reading, that's for sure! |
